Despite 2006 reports that Coldplay was going on a five-year hiatus so members could focus on their families, the group has begun laying the groundwork for the follow-up to 2005's "X&Y."
Super-producer Brian Eno (U2) has been tapped to produce the set, according to the BBC.
Band frontman Chris Martin talked about the collaboration during an interview with the BBC last weekend.
"Well, we kind of feel that he picked us, really. With someone like Brian, if you can persuade him to work with you, you're doing well."
"They want to take their music someplace else," Eno told the BBC. "We're really at the very beginning of it, but it sounds very promising to me.
