Paul Weller is to be honoured with the Outstanding Contribution To British Music award at next year's Brit Awards.
The modfather will receive the "prestigious" gong at the ceremony at Earls Court, London on February 15.
He follows in the footsteps of recent winners U2 and Sir Bob Geldof and his Boomtown Rats.
British Phonographic Industry main man Peter Jamieson explained the decision: "The Outstanding Contribution Award is the highest honour the UK record industry can bestow. It is reserved for those whose influence, longevity and creativity puts them in the very top ranks of UK artists.
