Soul Asylum are to release the final album recorded with bass player Karl Mueller 'Crazy Mixed Up World' next March.
Mueller was diagnosed with cancer a month before the band headed into the studio and passed away in June just after recording had finished.
Front man Dave Pirner told Rolling Stone: After the album was finished, Karl called me up and said he really liked it. That was all I needed to hear."
The thirteen tracks on the album are reportedly reminiscent of Soul Asylum's 1992 hit 'Runaway Train' and Pirner used the upcoming birth of his child for inspiration. "I was anticipating having a kid. I guess I was exploring what I might say to him when he's fifteen. It's an exaggerated version of everything that really pisses me off right now with this administration."
