According to Soundgenerator.com rumours are culminated in reports Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl had died have been addressed by the man himself, who describes the whole situation "weird".
Grohl and his band are currently preparing for a busy summer of touring in Europe and North America - confirming just yesterday an intimate acoustic show at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre, and the former Nirvana star says the first he knew of the reports was via a phone call from a friend.
I got a phone message from a friend saying 'Er I guess... Jordyn (Grohl's wife)... this is maybe... for you," he tells the NME this week. "I'm so sorry to hear what happened'. I heard this message and went 'What the f*ck?'. They were leaving a message on my cell phone saying 'I'm sorry Dave died'."
"That was weird, but I guess I've finally graduated to that status of being an internet rumour. It weirded me out a bit, but it's stupid. I'm like a cockroach, don't worry, I'll be around for a long time."
The band play a series of massive arena shows in the UK, including a show to 85,000 fans in London's Hyde Park on June 17. Tickets are still on sale for some dates.
