Keith Richards out of hospital, tour unaffected |
|
Latest reports on the state of Keith Richards' health indicate the legendary guitarist out of hospital and fighting fit for the next leg of the Rolling Stones' Bigger Bang tour.
Last week Richards was airlifted to Auckland's Ascot hospital after suffering concussion from a fall. The 62-year-old was holidaying with fellow band mate Ronnie Wood when he injured himself after reportedly falling from a coconut tree.
Concerns had initially been placed as to Richards' recovery in light of the band's forthcoming live commitments - with the European leg of their tour kicking off on May 27th in Barcelona - but a statement this week from a spokesman at the New Zealand medical centre revealed he had been discharged.
"I can categorically confirm that Mr Richards . . . is no longer a patient in this hospital," said the hospital's duty manager, Geoff Sparks. Earlier in the day, a spokesperson for the band revealed that doctors said Richards was making "a speedy recovery."
