Judges of this year's Brit Awards have been left outraged after Pink Floyd were omitted from the Best Live Act shortlist.
Many of the panel believed that their show-stealing comeback performance at Live 8 deserved to be nominated for the music industry back-patting ceremony.
However, they were told that Pink Floyd could not be nominated because they did not perform in front of a paying audience.
As the Independent reports, one exasperated judge moaned: "It is ridiculous. Pink Floyd's performance was clearly one of the biggest talking points of 2005 in the music world."
