Bought this baby in a pawn shop for only $180.00 and she lists for $645 of course you usually find them for $400. I Have been shopping around for a universal guitar something that would alow Jazz, blues, rock, metal and all in between. I actually went in to look for movies but no matter what I always check out instruments just to see what they have. Tried about 9 guitars before this guitar. BAM!! "Inullll TAKE IT!" Truly This guy didnnullt know what he had.

This guitar has some great great features that surpass any guitar in this price range. The neck is great a bit bigger than a stratnulls but not to big. The grover tuners are awesome no tuning problems at all. The string through body gives great sustain. The P/Unulls give a great veriety of tasty tones. The finish is beautiful. And of course the coil tap; This feature is what makes this baby different than all others in this price range. Beautiful Beautiful Guitar |

Since this was found in the pawn shop I had to tweek a few gears and set her up to see what she was all about but when I was finished I couldnnullt put her down. Litterally like a hot knife through warm butter. So Smooth, just flawless, nothing compared to the simplicity and yet great feel of the instrument played like a $1000-$2000 guitar! and I have played many and owned a few. A Les Paul here a few paul reed smiths there but she could play better than most of them. Maybe not the tones that you can get out of those superb instruments but the playability was astounding. |

First and formost no noise whatsoever. The sound of the P/Unulls are Great not quite as powerful as a Les Paul but I am not disappointed at all. The neck just sings. One of the most beautiful souding neck P/Unulls for being stock. The Coil Tap is truely great it supasses some of the taps on other and more expensive guitars that I have played. The Bridge P/U has a GREAT Les Paul tone really crunchy, full and smooth yet has a ferocious bite. When The tap is pulled even a die-hard strat player whould have a hard time depicting it from a Fender itself. Great Stevie Ray tones pour out with overdrive. Best way to describe it. Humbucker-Neck-Pure, thick, and sustain. Humbucker-Middle-Well rounded, Chunky. Humbucker-bridge-smokey,growling,crunch. Single coil-neck-crystal clear, sings. Single coil-middle-Acoustic, clean . Single coil-bridge-Bite,twang. |

I have not owned this guitar but a year but so far not a problem. the pots are not scratchy the switch is still firm the jack has not become loose and stays almost in perfect tune for two weeks till I change the strings. The setup has held itnulls adjustment quite well for playing it 4 days a week 4 hours a day. Inullm about to tweek a few things again. Of course after a year who wouldnnullt. |

First I Have two Strats one a custom shop with texas special P/Unulls and a mex, a Godin Freeway Classic, An Gibson Les Paul Custom, An Ibanez SZ 450, and A crappy copy Strat just keep in my room for those "inspirational ideas." This girl is in my opinion is ranked with the gibson and my beloved fenders. She Is Just a beautiful guitar Looks, Sound, Playability All a slam Dunk. Inullm going to get a few more Gryphons to change P/Unulls and also just because this one hasnnullt quit yet. Maybe throw a 59null in the neck and a super distortion in the bridge. The Playability is what counts the rest if you donnullt like you can change but I have played about 15 years not many guitars have struck me like this one. just for reference I play SRV, HENDRIX, BEATLES, DOORS, DREAM THEATER, STEVE VAI, CHUCK BERRY and many more styles She is played on most of them at least I do when live. Great Guitar 9/10 9 because of the P/Unulls |

I bought this guitar at Guitar Center for $400. I orginaly came in to buy a quit top EPI, because they said on the radio they where half price. I get there and it was half off list. I was expecting about $250-350 range, so when they wherennullt I asked what thay had I this price range and the sales man handed me this. Inulld shoped around in this price range before so I knew about schecter and the c-1nulls. Seeing this was a variant of the c-1 I bought it right then. I have a squier strat that I tuned and tweked and thought a good guitar for what it is. I was wrong. This guitar kills that guitar in every respect. If your just geting started and have the money get this guitar, donnullt bother with any other guitar in this price range or lower.

I bought my Schecter Gryphon Diamond Series at Guitar Center in Tempe Arizona for $400. I was originally looking for an Ibanez SZ, but no one had it in stock. A guitar center salesman reffered me to the Shecter C-1, and convinced me to come in and check it out. I played the C-1 for an hour or so, and loved it, but the ivy inlay threw me off, and so did the price. I played almost every guitar on the wall, but kept coming back to the gryphon hanging next to the C-1. She was flat out beautiful!! I was instantly hooked by the fast neck, clean sound, the sustain caused by the through body stringing, low action, and the crazy little coil tap. I felt that it played and sounded as well as the higher end guitars I had tried, including my favorites, Gibson SG, and Gibson Les Paul.

For the price range, my Schecter came with some very solid features. Gibraltar Bridge... nicely crafted so as not to cut into your strings. Thru body stringing... gives her tons of sustain Grover tuners... tried and true One volume knob, one tone knob 3 way switching Fast neck Seymour Duncan Humbuckers... In my opinion, some of the best out there. |

The Schecter Gryphon is the result of months of careful shopping. I played every guitar I could get my hands on, comparing names like Gibson SG, Les Paul, Fender Stratocaster, Jacksons, Schecters, Ibanez, and Peavys. I played them all through a Marshall G 50 CD amp (I own one) so I could accurately compare the sound of each guitar. The neck plays extremely fast, like a les paul. The jumbo frets are quite cozy. Since I also play a Bass, the transition less dramatic. I think that the through body stringing can be a double edge sword. Lots of horse power. As a beginner, it took some practice to get my guitar to fade at the right time. But I will say this, when the band hits that final note at the end of the show, the Gryphon is the last guitar the audience will hear, ringing beautifully, long after the other instruments have gone silent. I love the simplicity. As a rythm guitarist, I only need a couple of knobs, and no tremolo. I always get a kick out of watching my other guitarists as they tune their instruments between sets. I have yet to do this. Those grovers rock!! Having only one volume knob controlling both pickups, you will not be able to do those tricks that Tom Morello does with his switch. Something you lead guitarists will want to know, but my lead guitarist still digs the gryphon. The coil gives worlds of room for experimentation and variety. This guitar is great for any style of play (I play Metal, Grunge, Blues, various cultural folk styles). |

They say you get what you pay for. At $400, I feel I got a little more. The focus of the Shecter Gryphon seems to be on sound quality, and playability. Therenulls no gimicks. No effects. No tremelo. But she plays like a high end guitar, and sounds gorgeous. When someone looks at my guitar, their eyes always widen a bit. If a guitarist looks at her, their jaw usually drops. The Gryphon gives a good first impression, and leaves a lasting impression. The Schecter designers really knew what they were doing when they concieved the Gryphon Diamond Series. |

I am constantly transporting my equipment, so durability is a must. Inullve only owned my schecter for six months, so I have no long term information for you. So far, I have yet to see any issues with the structural integrity. I feel that the features, such as the tuners, and pickups are solid, and I have no doubt that they will stay true for a long time to come. My only issue is the lack of a pickguard. I am constantly trying to buff out the blemishes caused by my picking hand, and I know I am fighting a losing battle in this area. The shecter gryphon is a gorgeous guitar, and I think the pickguard would take away from this effect. Perhaps the designers thought so too. Either way, if you play frequently, I think younullre going to leave your mark. |

I will own more guitars because I like to collect instruments, but I feel I have found what I was looking for in my Schecter Gryphon Diamond Series: Fast play, beautiful sound, gorgeous looks, and a voice that rings on forever. |

I bought from guitar center (its a guitar center only model). I paid about $400 for it. I bought it because its basiclly a c-1 with a quilted maple top finish for half the price. All the hardware is the same as the c-1 elite but with the better toggle switch.

Very nice features for the price. Dual Duncan Designed humbuckers give it plenty of kick for anything in the price range. One volume and one tone knob. Push the tone knob down and you have coil tap(hard to find in this price range as well). Mine has a flamed maple top and is wine red. You really need to see it in person. 25 frets for good lead work. Grover tuners and a nice stopbar before the string thru body. Overall perfect features as long as you dont need a tremolo system. I like to downtune so it is perfect. |

Im looking this guitar over with a fine tooth comb and heres what i think. After just having this guitar for just two weeks im wondering how the finish on the maple top is going to hold up. Not just because therenulls an absence of a pickguard but as a whole. Time will tell. The pickups are duncan designed and not too shabby for stock pickups, but this guitar would really open up if you were to switch them to some dimarzio evolutions or some better duncans. The wood is nice, solid but light. The maple top is also nice. The finger board is rosewood and unfinished, i love the look of it and it plays extremly easy. The tuners are grover, i dont really need to mention how good they are. They guitar stays in tune nicely even with excessive string bending sessions. The other options for this guitar are very simple. One tone pot which when pulled out isolates the pickups to a strat sound which is nice. Two guitars in one. One volume knob and a 3 way selection switch for the tone. All you really need. As a whole the guitar has pretty good tone and a nice clean sound even with moderate distortion. |

I definately think this guitar has a fast neck and is very easy to play. The only reason i had even the slightest difficulty was because of the jumbo frets that i wasnt used to but it didnt take long. Also the intonation was just a little off, but was easily fixed and sounded excellent when it was adjusted. |

For as long as i have been playing it, it has stood up to some pretty harsh string bends without a noticable need for adjustment. I could see how this guitar would make for a good live rig. But like i said i have only had this guitar for two weeks so again time will tell. |

Well my overall opinion for this guitar is really influenced by the price tag. Hate to say it but it is. Therenulls no way you can find a NEW ibanez, prs, fender that plays this nice for this price. Get one while you can, i dont know if schecter is going to continue to make these guitars, but since you can only find them at guitar center maybe they will. My best advice is to just go play one and compare it to what its modeled after. The prs and ibanez. |

I think for the money, it is an excellent guitar and I beleive it has a very good sound with stock pickups. I do wish it had a pick guard. After about 3 weeks of playing, it is starting to get scratches where the pick guard should be. |

I started playing again after about a 25 year absence. I first bought a Squire 51 Vintage, and after about a month and a half, I bought this guitar. This guitars quality compaired to the Squire guitars is like night and day. I should have bought a Shecter in the first place. I also played "Mexican Strats", and the Gibson SG standard, and I feel this guitar is much better. Since buying this guitar, my playing skills have improved a lot |

I honestly beleive that for the price, it would be hard to match the quality, sound, or the looks of this guitar. This model is a limited edition only made for Guitar center. Itnulls a mix between an Oman 6 and a C-1. I definately feel I got my moneys worth on this guitar. Cost was not an issue in my case, I could have bought any "high end" model but I decided on this guitar and I am very happy with it. I dont plan on upgrading for awhile, but when I do, based on my experiance with this guitar, I will buy another Shecter |

The action on this guitar is the first reason I bought it. Very nice and relaxed to play, especially because I have been playing Acoustic for a fair while and this guitar has been a nice transition. I have tried a little distortion and it responds well, with a clear tone. I think this is due to the quality of the pick ups. (note: not a guitar expert, just telling how it is.) |

Get one for a good price buy it. I donnullt think these are in Australia yet, as there are factories that specifically set up the instruments when they land on American soil. To my knowledge this is not in Oz. I am from North Queensland and our guitar shops are limited to what people know. In my opinion, you should try one out for yourself and post your own thoughts. I am going to be a little bit biased because I am happy with the purchase. I donnullt think you will buy one of this quality for the price though. Espiecially travelling from Australia. |

I got this guitar yestserday at Guitar Center, I paid 360( the sales man took $40 off the price). this guitar is very good- from my point of view. One of the thing s i look for in a guitar is for it tot be well balcened, this is becouse when i play standing up it helps having a guitar that dosnnullt tip over. the Gryphon sings with 2 semor duncan humbukers, a 3 way switch enable you to pick which one you want to use, the quality is wonderful, nothing was skipped. there is one valume knob and one tone knob BUT you can pull the tome knob up to get another knob(ex like on a analog wrist watch were you turn the knob to set the date and then pull it out to set the time) the brigde makes setting action very eas. the 24 jumbo frets took some time for me to get used to since i played on a strat for a year, but within and hr or 2 i became very well adjusted |
