I bought my 4003 off ebay in September 04. Inulld previously played Fenders and a Music Man Stingray. The Ric is easily in the same class. Once Inulld got used to the difference in playing the bass (having no obvious thumb rest)I could honestly say that I love to play it. It is so easy to play. The balance is perfect for me, as I wear the bass very high. Superb bass.

Deep bottom end, punchy mid tone, and clear top end. And the classic Ric sound.Unmistakeable. |

I have a 62 model Jazz fretless which I also love dearly. I have real difficulty deciding which bass to pick up and play. |

This bass outperforms most basses Inullve played. The only criticism I could level is that it is initially slightly uncomfortable to wear while playing. You do get used to it, though. |

This is a great value guitar for the price. The bottom end is fat theres heaps of room for meldic riffs...McCartney is my inspiration and maybe Inullm a bit biased but the Ricky has replaced,a Warwick and my trusty 72 J Bass as my main bass. A boyhood dream fulfilled!

Takes a while to get used to singing and playing with the Ricky. The shape takes getting used too and it weighs a bit too |

Sound quality great. Awesome bottom end. Such a well built, no crafted instrument. No mass produced USA business here, just solid PA craftsmanship! |

This guitar exceeded my expextations in every way and I love it more each time I play it. If you are after a premium instrument with a great sound then this is the bass I would recommend for around $3K (AUD). I will be buried with this guitar. It owns me! |

I got my 4003 Ric on eBay December of 2004. I paid $885 for the bass and another $70 for shipping.

Bass has an awesome treble punch. You can get superb bottom-end from it as well. I usually play slap on my Ric but it plays many other styles as well. Also, the bass is styled very attractively. Rics have dual truss rods in the reck which gives it that sweet sound. Dating your bass on a Ric using the serial number is very easy too. |

Bass is very reliable in my opinion. I play it every week in my jazz bands and when it comes to gigs, I always count on my Rickenbacker delivering the bass to the people. |
