Review Pyle Pro PPG450A

Review by a visitor on 20.12.2005

i bought it in a store called electronics 2000 the store is pretty cool to it is like acar audio store and pyle is a car audio company.i bought it like 2 years ago i paid 100$ i bougt it because i thought it was 400 watts.

  Features

THIS AMP SUCKS !!!!this amp has no gain no distortion or no efx all it has is master volume, volume, bass, mid, trebble, and baas expander.the amp flutters alot with every thing at full 400 wats my ass it probably handels 400 watts but doesent go to 400watts. allit goes is about 30 watts clean or maby a lil bit more than 50 watts with my distortion pedal.sounds like crap tho the little 8nullnull speaker flutters alot and how can that little speaker go over 200watts thats just retarded.

  Playability

this amp sounds horrible compared to other amps bass fluters ,other amps might not.volume is good i guess it goes as loud as a randall rh200g2 turned half way only using 2 speakers but still randall kills this one.

  Quality

this amp is alright i guess in quality and not being noisy.the only noise u hear with this amp is the regular buzzing u get in an amp its not that loud tho and as i said efx suck.

  Durability

its not that heavy (weight wise) ist good for like garage practice you could hear it over the regular thrashmetal black/deathmetal drum battery with hi hat bass and snare.with distortion of course clean is dead.this amp is reliable but in not worrying about blowing ur speaker or amp goung out on u but sound sux.

  Overall

this amp is defeneatly NOT for metal or 7 string or drop tuning in guitar its more like for jazz. with distortion it sounds good ...i guess....just that u cant get enough bass so i suggest if yur gonna use gain use like a hi/mid over drive it DOES NOT handel heavy distortion .i would use this amp for maby a mic witha vocalist with a crappy voice or replace the speaker with a subwoofer or take the amp (yes its gonna wreck the combo but who cares its crab anyway)out and use it as a bass amp head with the output for the cable to the bass cab.then just use the crappy 8nullnull speaker for a replacement for a 10 watt practice amp. any questions u wanna ask me my email is villil@aol.com

I got it for a gift from my dad this past christmas and he was on ebay it is supposudly a 400 watt amp

  Features

it is an okay amp but the wattage doesnnullt hold up to itnulls 400 watts. it has main volume then another volume switch for more volume doesnnullt make any sense has your basic bass trebble mid controls and a button that says bass expander. imput output and a headphone jack. No overdrive No gain like acoustic almost. If you want acousitic just buy and acoustic guitar and dont waist your money on a guitar and amp and accesories.

  Playability

if you want acoustic effects on an elctric without any distortion than great but i dont see why any one would buy an elctric guitar if they wanted an acoustic sound

  Quality

the quality is good no effects and doesnnullt perform well

  Durability

it seems to be pretty relible pretty good workmanship but lacks features

  Overall

personally i would have chosen a different amp if i knew i was getting one. do not purchase this if you want a real electric guitar sound
