Tone is the warmest dirty channel out there; not head banging buzz but smoth rock/blues, crying, allot of expression and easy to EQ with simple controls that give dyversity to your sound without reading a book to do it. Think it blows you donnullt get a foot pedeal to change channels; I mean comnulln for the price of this box I know that they shoud through in the changer (every other amp. Inullve bought has) My biggest complaint is no stand by; Inullve got a tube amp here that I either have to turn off to change axes or just unplug and plug in with all that noise, I just cannullt do it and it is not good for the amp. Also I think I wonnullt be using the boost button it incresses the gain but you seem to loose all the warmth |

Yes but I will use this for my dirty channel I still love that Fender sound for clean. Seems that I have been exposed to quite a number of very pricey amps lately and I have heard some very cool sounds but for the bang for the buck you cannullt go wrong here and this is a real amp hence theprice this isnnullt modeling this is what they try to model. |

Sound is why I wanted this thing, it plays great through all my axes and it sounds neat through the rack gagits but this amp can be picked up and taken out to plug in on its own; when you donnullt want to complacate things like at a jam, this is it K.I.S.S. |

The symplicty of the controls remind me of a Telicaster and they give you the same wide varity of tone. I donnullt gig out just record at home and will take this to jam and thatnullll be nice compared to the 410 Inullve been luggnulln. I donnullt see a problem when I play with my band it is plenty loud enough if it were a big hall younulld be running it through the PA anyway. Stacks are a thing of the past in my book but if anything this puppy is too loud; I almost bought the Vox because it had the 30 wats you could change to 15 so you can drive the tubes and get that driven destortion at a lower volume; you can always through a synhiser or big dyaphame mike on it and bring it up into the mix but you cannullt always deal with a screamer except to put it in a closet and Inullve done that with this amp and it sounds too cool. Peavey has always built things too heavy but they always last so I would say that this is another Peavy |

This does just what I knew it would do and does it very well. I donnullt need a better one I have that in a couple different flavors but this is the bomb for what it does and would be a great 1st amp for someone who is stepping up into pro-gear. It is a good value for the money and it is a versital unit |

well the strong poitns are the sound is very, very good and itnulls perfect for alternative rock.I also plugged in my semi acoustic guitat and it sounds great on it.Inullve seen many revieuws on this amp and i totally agree with it.you either like the retro or you donnullt.well..I certainly do.the amp has something special to me.I compared it to a VOX AC 30 and I rather prefer the sound of the peavey classic 30 |

well the volume is high enough for me.For shows in a little pub it is exelent to use.I played on a gig once en there was a very good PA so if you play on an open podium en they put a good mic befor your amp the sound is great. |

It was the first run and I wish I would have bought the extension cab. Paid $300.00 new at Evans in Houston.

Love this amp. Inullve tried to get a unique sound from many different amps (Marshall, Fender, Music man. etc.) and always came back to the classic 30. From large amps to small I still get the best twang w/ the 30 and ext. cab. Am always looking to pick up the extension cabs. They are very rare these days. |

With the right tubes it sounds as good as any amp. I suggest using Celestion speakers w/ the extension cab. I can roll in all my gear now on 1 dolly load. About all I can take after a lost weekend at the gigs. |

It can be a little noisy around beer signs and w/ amp cranked. I used a Lexicon M100 in my effex rack because I hate spring reverbs. This gives it a much more defined sound and not as noisey. |

Inullve had problems w/ resistors overheating but this can be fixed by pointing a fan at the back for circulation. Its done a full flip and a half of my dolly, landed on the top w/o any damage! A very good peavey product. |

Bought it a few months ago at Sam Ash because I needed a better amp. I paid about $500 for it.

Itnulls a very attractive amp. It is somewhat unique in that its casting is made of tweed instead of tolex. You can get it in black or blonde tweed (the blonde gives it a great vintage look). I also love how it is extremely lightweight (so therenulls no need for casters) yet it can belt out a great sound. I think that it can drive a cab, which is cool if you want to over-power the drums, but Inullm not sure if it can (Inulld have to check). Itnulls a very basic amp but can go really far with a great effects pedal or pedal board. |

It is used a lot by Blues artists but can be ideal for indie/rock also. I wouldnnullt recommend it for any type of metal unless you get a super overdrive pedal with it because the gain doesnnullt have a major distortion. If younullre into metal, then the special 212 is probably better for you. |

Quality is great, and itnulls sound can get loud enough to play a gig as Inullve done before. It has the basic settings (pre, post, reverb, bass, middle, and treble). The only problem is that it doesnnullt have a double input or a standby switch so you have to either leave it on between jam sessions, or just give it a few minutes to warm up. |

Very reliable, I havennullt had any trouble with it yet. The only problem is that the tubes will need to be replaced every now and then. Inullm not positive how durable it is because Inullve only had it for a few months, but i have kicked it with the reverb up all the way (stupidly) a few times to get that raunchy sound and the tubes havennullt gone out on me. Itnulls great for live gigs. |

I really love this amp. If I had enough money I would have gotten the classic 50. I have never heard anything bad about it and I think I would buy one again in the future. Only time will tell how durable it is, but so far no regrets. |
