It has a gorgeous santana dark cherry 10 top with tight even flame. It has a south american solid mahogany body and neck and indian rosewood fretboard. Very attractive bird inlay on frets. 3 way toggle and volume/tone knobs for the two santana III pickups, which are close to the picking hand and very easy to get to. It has a tremolo and locking tuners(ebony keys).

The factory setup was not to my liking but easy enough to change. Pickups were adjusted correctly. The finish is to die for. I cannot find a flaw anywhere on this guitar. The wood quality is tremendous. A few of my rodies came up to me after hearing the santana for the first time and wondered what was different sounding. They said the guitar sounded "natural". everyone noticed the difference (Even people that donnullt play music at all!) Now thats somethin to brag about.

I play my santana through a Hughes & Kettner Duotone 50 or 100 amp, depending on the gig size. And for the most part the guitar does it all, soundwise that is. It sustains for days. Has the lp and strat characteristics but the sound is all "magical". I have been playing for 16 years and have tried everything. This guitar has filled the gaping hole that was once in my life! |

This is a very reliable guitar. I always take a couple spare guitars on tour, or to gigs or recording sessions just in case I break strings in the middle of a set or if I have alternate tunings set up, but my spares are also santana IIInulls. Yeah I know...its a sickness!! This santana III is ready for anything you can throw at it, and can even handle getting thrown itself! (dont ask)

I have been playing for 16 years. 6 have been professionally. That is all i do now, wheather Inullm touring with well know musicians, recording, or doing solo gigs....so i know a good piece of equipment when it comes along, and if im going to be playing electric guitar for any of em, then the PRS Santan III is the one that Inullll be playing...if by choice that is. How is that for the endorcement of a guitar? I thank Paul Reed Smith for making this instrument what it is, a guitar made with the "player" in mind....not so common these days. Go get one today!
