I bought this 335 copy off Craigslist for $30. BTW: I have no idea what the original pickups sound like. The other owner painted it with glow-in-the-dark paint, so I made repairs the body since there were chips in it and painted it black, which was the original color. The switch was not working so I fixed that problem. I had some Gibson pickups that I installed when the paint was dry. Neck PU is a PAF and the bridge PU has a coil tap controlled by a push/pull switch. The neck was rough so I smoothed out the frets on the edge and fixed the fret buzz at the 22nd fret. I made a modification to the bridge / saddle so that I could lower the strings, which caused a very bad fret buzz at the 22nd, but I got that worked out with no problem and very little time invested. Sooooo, I got-s me one-hell-of-a guitar on the "cheap". This sucker sounds better than a stock Gibson 335 and plays reeeeeal nice. And all for $30 (not including the pickups 'coz I had those in a box waiting on a good deal like this to pop up on Craigslist for-sale page). And for all you guys who are having problems putting the pots in this style guitar, there's a trick to it. And when you figure out how its done, you're not gonna find it too hard to do at all. Stop whining start learning how to do this crap on your own!

  Features

Black in color. Great tone. Gibson humbuckers. Push / Pull for coil taping bridge pickup. Me LOVE this one long time!

This guitar suits my needs and performs better than I expected after I made modifications to it.

  Quality

The tone is great for Blues, Southern Rock, Country (since I have a coil tap installed).

  Durability

There was fret buzz, but that is no big deal... it was / is fixed.

I was looking for a semi-hollow body guitar similar to a Gibson 335 to add to my collection without paying the big name prices. purchased this guitar from Musicians friend for $149.

  Features

This guitar is detailed fairly well as far as wood, paint, lacquer and bindings and is a beauty to look at in tobacco sunburst. The electronics and pickups are very good and perform flawlessly.

  Playability

Playability is a sore point. I was a semi-pro lead guitarist turned hobbiest. To drop the string action low enough to play lead comfortably above the 12th fret causes all kinds of buzzing. I have therefore left the action low and relegated itnulls use to rhythm guitar work where reaching above the 12th fret is unnecessary. To compound the problem is the fact that the neck is set so far into body that reaching the high frets is dificult at best. I have therefore left the action low and relegatedthe guitarnulls use to rhythm guitar work.

  Quality

This guitar provides that warm sound you would expect from a semi-hollow bodied guitar with humbucker pickups and sounds akin to anything out there at any price.

  Durability

Everything feels solid and should stand lenghty gigs, staying in tune in large part due to the nice Grover tuners.

  Overall

Due to the flawed neck action I cannot rate this guitar as highly as I would like and would have to recommend it as a beginners guitar. If Washburn had only put a little more effort into the Delta King neck issue they could have had a real winner.

I bought it online. I paid 120 dollars for it. I bought it because I had a Gibson 335 in my youth and wanted something like it but was not willing to pay for a Gibson. I figure that at 120 bucks if it didnnullt work out I could always try something else.

  Features

The guitar is beautifully finished. Mine is black and the finish is perfect as far as I can tell. The guitar is beautiful period. The hardware is good. The guitar stays in tune between sessions. Out of the box it sounded like crap. The pickups were very badly adjusted. I adjusted the pickups and noticed that the relationship between the volume and tone controls is not linear at all. There are pronounced "sweet spots" in the adjustments. You have to find the sweet spots or it sounds muddy and flat. After a few practice sessions it developed a nasty fret buzz and I had to adjust the bridge which mostly took care of it at the price of raising the action on the higher frets. I am seriously considering taking it to a Luthier to install a slightly higher nut to even the action out across the full length of the neck.

  Playability

Aside from the fret buzz, the guitar plays quite well. It has a small fast neck that I appreciate. Be advised it is a big guitar. But otherwise, it plays quite nicely.

  Quality

The sound is great for what I bought it for .... blues. When it is adjusted right and plugged into an adequate amp it produces a deep, muted tone that is nearly perfect for Chicago style blues. Almost muddy but not quite. Perfect for down and dirty blues. Good sustain but the tone leaves something to be desired playing lead on jazz and standards. You will never mistake it for a Gibson or Gretsch. But it does a wonderful job on blues numbers and thatnulls it what I bought it for. The neck pickups produce a nice deep rumble on the base strings and the bridge pickups produce a biting lead. Feedback has not been a problem.

  Durability

Donnullt know yet.

This guitar is worth a lot more than 120 bucks. If I had the money I would buy a Gibson or a high end Ephiphone. They do sound better. But, this little guy is doing a great job of what I bought him for and for the money it is hard to go wrong.

I purchased this guitar (sunburst color) from Musciannulls Friend for $149.

  Features

Cannullt say much bad about this axe. Itnulls pretty much all good...! However, I wish the heel (where the neck joins the body was a bit lower, so I could better hit the higher frets. Other than this no complaints.

At some point Inullll replace the stock pickups with better quality humbuckers.

  Playability

Outperforms ANYHTHING in itnulls price class. In my opinion plays better than many guitars costing three times the money

  Quality

Very good tone from a guitar in this price category. Pickups are generally clean at average volume. Tend to overdrive a bit at higher amp volumes. But then again, I like that sound. The clean sound at low and average volume is superb.

  Durability

It appears that it is solidly built. I just go this and have not put it through the "road test" yet.

  Overall

In my youth, I allowed a 335 to get away from me because I was bord with it. At the time it wasnnullt as cool as a strat. And I have procrastinated about acquiring another one..but did not want to spend the BIG BUCKS for one as you have to these days for one. SO this was a great alternative. I have the looks, sound and feel of a Gibson 335 at a fraction of the cost

I have owned Gibson, Fender, Ovation, Epiphone, Ibanez and G&L. I currently have a couple of Fender Strats (a Plus and a Am. Std., Gibson Les Paul, G&L, and Ibanez Artist, etc) This guitar plays as well as any guitar that I have owned. The construction appears to be a solid as a Gibson or Epiphone 335. The best thing about this guitar is it plays well and sounds great. Therenulls much tone that can be coaxed from this baby, The pickups are fairly noise free. The only criticism I would have of this guitar is that one of the pots is a bit noisy. But thatnulls an easy fix.

I also found a used one (red) in a local pawn shop that I purchased for $100 dollars out the door. I wanted to compare two different guitars of this model to see the basic differences in playability, construction, tone, etc. Whiule there are subtle differences in tone, set-up playability, itnulls still a killer axe for the money. In my opinion, you cannot get a better quality guitar anywhere for this kind of money.

I bought it online (EBAY) in January (null05) for $160 including shipping.

  Features

Rich, warm tones for chording; nice bite for solos. The pick-ups are virtually noise-free. Double humbuckers and semi hollow body; what a combination. Mine is a deep blue finish with chrome hardware. I changed the amber control knobs to stock Gibson knobs (black). Shenulls a beauty.

  Playability

This is one versatile guitar. I cannullt keep my hands off of it. My other guitars are getting jealous. Very warm, mellow tones for rhythm or for screaming leads, this guitar comes through for you. Great action, low to the neck. I have noticed that it does sound somewhat better with a slighly heavier gauge string than I am used to using.

  Quality

Like Inullve said...noise-free, great sound, feels like a million bucks in your hands.
The quality is right up there with my Gibson ES 335. The dual humbuckers are killer. There is no sound that you cannullt get from this gem.

  Durability

Only had it for 3 or 4 months...hard to say about the durability. Seems to be as durable as any guitar I own (and I own quite a few). I play it on stage at least one set per night, itnulls only getting better.

  Overall

Letnulls see...great price, plays like a dream, sounds like you want it to, looks like it should cost 10 times more than it did. I am in love with this guitar. It was love a first sight. P.S. She loves me, too.

I got the Cherry finish from Musiciannulls Friend for $ 129.00.

  Features

This is an awesome Semi-Hollow Body, Itnulls raw looknulls and playability combine for one great axe.

  Playability

Compaired to my other guitars ( which are higher priced ) it seems to be able to hang w/ them at all levelnulls.

  Quality

Great sound quality, no noise from the humbuckers at all, It plays as good as my $ 500.00 Epiphone Les Paul Standard and my Standard Fender Strat.

  Durability

Just Bought it, so right now I can;t vouch for itnulls durabilty, It seems to be very well built.

  Overall

Overall I fell in love w/ this guitar the moment I touched it, I chose this Semi-Hollow Body because it had great reviews and a friend had one and it was as nice as any Epiphone DOT I have seen, at this time I am not expecting to get a better one, why would I do that when this OE30 is simply one awsome Semi-Hollow Body.

I got this guitar for my birthday, my folks got it from Musiciannulls Friend for $120 (list $420)

  Features

For the price this guitar has be one of the greatest guitars Inullve ever played (Inullm a beginner, so thatnulls not many :P)It has a bolt on neck, which is kind of a bring-down... beautiful finish, sounds wonderful, very sturdy. Also, it would have been nice to have block inlay (but itnulls a cheap guitar, so I cannullt complain)

  Playability

As I previously stated, this has to be one of the best guitars Inullve ever played! This guitar is made to look like an Es-335 or a Casino, and Inullve played both of those...and although some will diagree, I think that this guitar sounds much better than either of them. (Blues/Rock genre...like Cream or Led Zeppelin)

  Quality

As I stated earlier, it sounds better than the ES-335 and the Casino Inullve played. It doesnnullt generate any noise till I plug it into my cheap amp (Silvertone) and it whistles (on overdrive) but on my friends Mesa/Boogie, It sounds marvellous!

  Durability

This guitar is very reliable. Inullve used it very heavily (5-6 hour practices [daily :P...."I like to play"] and 2-4 hour band meetings, as well as 1 hour jazz band sessions) It has held up with very little adjustment... just tightening the jack.

  Overall

Beautiful guitar, great features, great performance, FIVE STARS!!!!
