This is a CD for the Nick Drake die-hard fans to complete the collection of his body of work. The new orchestrations on Magic (made to Love magic)Thoughts of Mary Jane and Time of No Reply are interesting as these are the original scores that Robert Kirby wrote whilst at Cambridge. I personally prefer the unorchestrated arrangement of Time of No Reply. The Made to love magic and Thoughts of Mary Jane orchestrations are a considerable improvement on the previous ones which Robert Kirby didn't compose. Tow the line is another stark track much like Hanging on a Star and Black Eyed Dog and was the very last song he recorded. Other notable tracks included are a recording of Riverman recorded by Robert Kirby in his study at Cambridge a live studio recording of 3 Hours which is really amazing! The CD comes with comprehensive notes from John Wood and Robert Kirby. If you are into Nick Drake you will not be dissapointed.
