Review Montana CL 141

Review by a visitor on 10.3.2010

This is the only guitar I own that does not have a solid top. (I own 8 guitars with various scale-length).
I have kept it as a reliable CG when traveling. The scale length is 610mm and the neck width is 47mm
Good value for an adult with shorter than 9" finger span or a young player that wants to try a nylon-string guitar.
I paid under $125. a coupe of years back.It was made in Rfomania -vintage 2005- A bettter instrument than
the original CL141 of earlier vintage.Overall length of 36 1/4 inches with a sound box of 17 1/8 inches it produces
a better than average volume for a laminated-top guitar in this size category. Before I bought it I tested three other better-know brands with similar scale-length(609 - 610mm),also laminated tops, within the same price renge up to
$150. and I felt this model was the best of the group even when it was the 2nd less expensive of the four.

  Features

It keep the tuning after new strings are "streched" (by the third day of use no further tuning is necessary

  Playability

Everything is relative. For a laminated -top CG under $200. I will rated good to very good.

  Quality

Again within the price and craftmsanship of the builder (machine-built) I wil rated Good- Better than Average

  Durability

I own it for about 23 to 30 months as of this writing.

I choose it as my 1st short-scale guitar try-out. I played it before buying it after trying others in same price range and scale length. As a low-cost laminated-top classical (nylon-strings) guitar is a "keeper".

Cannullt remember where I got it or how much.

  Features

This is a small 5/8 guitar for kids. It was my first, and was a reliable, decent sounding classical guitar. The action is fairly high, which may make small hands hurt a bit, but the nylon strings are easy on little hands.

  Playability

Pretty good for the price. I donnullt remember the price exactly, but it was under 200 for sure.

  Quality

Decent sound, but not the best. Itnulls pretty good for a nylon string classical guitar.

  Durability

Itnulls not a proffesional guitar, so gig-wise, not the greatest. More a getting-started instrument for kids.

  Overall

It definately got me started on guitar. It will be in my closet forever.
