Review by MRNview on 5.9.2004

i bought it from marcus music in belfast for ?189.99. played it wiht a gibson les paul, absolutely amazin sound. i didnt buy it too long ago, got it for my bday which was 28th of august. oh and i got a free footswitch which works perfectly as well.

  Features

um its basically in the same shape as the 30dfx model but a good bit bigger.

strong points-excellent overdrive, nice clean, nullcrunchnull mode, natural sounding reverb, the delay
weak points- the effects are a little unversatile, more so than the 30dfx but not as versatile as say a line 6 spider, only one fx at a time(but u can have an fx and reverb at the same time)

it has a single 12" speaker, fdd(this mimics the way an all valve amp reacts with a speaker) emulated line out(this is where u can hook the amp into a speaker) an fx loop in the back(not sure what it does think u can hook ure pedals in there or something) solid state.

  Playability

well for me this is easily as good as a solid state spider combo which would roughly be the same price except perhaps in the fx secion. there are no other 50 watt combos that could match this that i know of, especailly for only ?189.99 this amp works perfectly for me because my own desired sound is the sort of sounds ranging johnny greenwood from radiohead to billie joe from greenday which i can get, but th ebest thing is with my westfield strat and mt marshall amp i can get a realli nice tone that works for me, which is the best thing u can ask for from an amp rite?

  Quality

quite loud. thought it mitve been louder but the tone is really nice. the overdrive channel can go form metal dist to more just overdriven. the louder u turn ure amp up the nullloosernull it becomes but this can be beaten by turnin up the gain as well so tis all good.

  Durability

the exterior is quite thick and sturdy protecting the speaker excellently(my dad stood on the top with no problem) it is perfect for gigs as it is quite loud and with a decent 2x12" it would be as loud as a stack(easily) and so wuld be good for gigs and touring it is unlikely to be damaged. very heavy.

  Overall
