Review Marshall MG15CDR

I bought the marshall 15CDR just over 1+1/2 years ago for ?99 brand new from aroundaboutsound in cheltenham. It is my 1st amp and my guitar teacher recomended marshall for good sound and relliability. (he has a 30DFX)

  Features

It has 2 channels clean+ overdrive then- gain, bass, contour, treble and spring reverb. The reverb is very good but it lacks certain effects that the DFX version has- but it doesnt matter if you have a good multi effects pedal.

  Playability

While being only 15watts it isnt the best for a live gig it still makes a loud noise. It was designed as a practise amp and it meets its requirements easily.

  Quality

The sound is typical of any marshall- excellent! the reverb out does any of my friends amps and the overall sound and effects are strng and it doesnt sound gimmicky. It is easy to get the sound you want- from heavy metal-country accoustic-classic rock. It wont let you down.

  Durability

It has been bashed around alot and is still holding up. 1 problem is i accidently left the cable in the socket when moving it in the car . It broke and the iside of the socket is wonky but it is still fine.

  Overall

For the money it is the best value
it knocks the socks off all of its competiton in its catagory
its a MARSHALL!

Sounhouse, Cheltenham, UK for ?90. Very good price.

  Features

Its a really superb amp, and perfect for anyone one who is either and avid guitarest looking for a good practise amp or a beginner with a enought cash to afford it. It is perfect in nearly every way, however there is one problem. If you put it to full overdrive, it crackles like mad. Things get worse if you turn up the volume to full on overdrive, which i wouldnt recomend doing, as its about as loud as a 30 watt. All you have to do if you have this problem is turn down the neck pickups tone, it helps cancel down the OD, but you miss out on the best soung your guitar can do.

  Playability

Its unbelievabley better than other amps in its price range, i love it. Although it costs drastically more for reverb, its got a fantastic little thing called fdd, which makes the sound feel deeper and its like you are playing in a hall, it really makes the guitar sound gorgeous. I have played a kustom 10 watt, and there is no competion at all, you are having a laugh if you compare it to any other amp in its price range.

  Quality

Ahhhh, the sound is immense. Flick on the FDD and you are on fire, couldnt suggest a better practise amp. The sound is unbeleivabley loud, never turn it up to full in a household environmaner, seriously, I play with it on like level 1 and i get naighbours nocking on the walls n stuff. Its funny. But level 1 out of 10, think wat 10 out of 10 is like!!! JEES!! This think couldnt fault opn sound capabilities.

  Durability

This is great and really outstanded me. Another shop where i was going to get an amp from around ?70- ?90 tried to con me into getting a Spider Line 6 one for ?250! The shop assistant said that the marshalls go out of tune and the sound levels go, but if anyone tells you this, ignore it. Its really not true, the sound is perfect. I dont think it would be good at gigs if you were planning on using alot of Overdrive, so for heavey metal, dot use it! But a small amout of Od or on clean it is a beauty, and VERY VERY LOUD, so thats good gor giggin'!

  Overall

I chose it because i wanted a Marshall really, the look and hig quality produsts drew me like a moth to a flame, and i was hoping to get about 70-90 pounds on my birthday, so this was perfect, also, you really couldnt cope with anything bigger than a 15 watt in a home, its loud enough for anyone, trust me. Its brilliant in everyway bar the clicking i mentioned, but thats fine, it has a warranty, so you can take it back if youre not satisfied, which you would be crazy to not be satisfied! I recomend it for a practise amp and to anyones first amp. It over lived up to my expectations, and they were high enought anyway! The only thing that im considering getting is a bigger, louder one for gigging, and i can assure you, it will be a Marshall!!!!

I got the AMP from the MAKE MUSIC shop in Bluewater.
It cost me ?82 I think.

  Features

The AMP has 2 channels, and an FDD (Frequency Dependent Damping.) button.
Instead of playing you T.V. and AMP apart you can plug a lead in to the head phones socket of the T.V. and the AMP to combind them.

  Playability

I havent tested the AMP against other AMP's.
I think the results are reachable.

  Quality

The sound quality on this is amazing.
The effects are the "bee's knees".
If you want noise, for a middle class AMP like this, then go for it.

  Durability

This AMP, I thimk, is realy reliable.
There is no frequent adjusting to it.
I havent tested it in a live gig yet, but i'm sure it is steady enougth.

  Overall

My opinion on this AMP is brilliant, it does what I expected it to do.

i bought it in marcus music, belfast for £90.00 in 2003

  Features

its not very loud but much better quality than any ten watt

  Playability

for a biginner who wants a good soundin amp this is the one its not to rubbish and it isnt to confusing, but obviously there is better ones out there

  Quality

the sound quality is good, its not like a radio, its much better, get a multi effects pedal hooked up to it and your flyin

  Durability

it is no where near good enough for gigs as its only 15 watt but for home practice it is good. It hasnt needed fixed in the year that ive had it and its been all over the place and still works fine

  Overall

I bought it because of its quality and price, low on money get this, looking for an amp thats better than a 10 watt and doesnt cost a bomb this is it
