Review Marshall AVT2000 100w Valvestate

Review by subzero3009 on 18.12.2006

I played it in a guitar store in Farmville, Virginia. It was not "Axis music". I forgot the name of the place. I am not sure about the price as it had no tag, but it was hooked up to a Kustom 4x12 celestion cabinet.

  Features

This amplifier was a valvestate amp. As said above, run by tubes. Not sure what brand but they were just stock tubes i assume. It had 3 channels, Clean, Overdrive1, Overdrive 2. Effects loop built in, standby switch, on/off toggle.

  Playability

I really liked the playability, the things you can do with this amp head are endless. You cannullt get much better out of any other amp. It is easy to set up, nothing really complicated. It sound amazing even just guitar to amp.

  Quality

Great Marshall quality, what you would expect from it. Very loud head, just on volume level 2 it could have blown that place up. It did well with effects, didnt transmit noise or anything of that sort. Was very easy to play with effects. Gave a great feel and effect. It works alot better then any amp I have ever used.

  Durability

It was good in the store, I didnnullt buy it but based on how reliable it was it was very good. Alot better then Orange combo tube amps. The orange amps took a very long time to warm up, and even then the distortion was horrible. The marshall head just was automatically ready to go. Good reliable sound, the footswitch is a bit noisy, but that is with all analog footswitchs. I would definitely use this for a live gig, i liked it alot. It is not a heavy head at all, very light surprisingly.

  Overall

I would definitely recommend this to any guitar player who wants to go on tour. It is an amazing amp head and good for any gear set up. It will work with basically any cabinet, just plug it up and go. Its an amazing value.

i reach perfect and desired results with this baby. i think it shames all crate and pevey amps. a stack marshall would even be in competition with it.

this is the bst amp i have ever played on. Suggested gear: Boss Mt-2 Metal zone, digitec wah-wah, gibson Les Paul, and a bottle of Jack daniels, ad a pack of Benson and Hedges, younullll be playing like slash in no time.
