Review Johnson Millenium JM150

Review by a visitor on 3.7.2007

I bought mine a year ago on Ebay for $600 USD along with the foot controller.

  Features

Truly it is an amazing sounding amp and easy to tweak sounds and program. Sounds great at low volume and can record direct without the speakers so as to not wake the neighbours. Well worth the investment. The marshall settings in particular even simulate the cabinet "chunk" which is impressive.

  Playability

When I was first in the market, I compared it to the Roland COSM amp and the current Line 6 product. The Millenium was the most believable after having had experience with VOXnulls, modded Masrshalls, Soldanonulls, etc. which the Millenium really tone clones well.

  Quality

Sound quality and the morphing between programs is excellent.

  Durability

Itnulls very durable, but heavy to transport. Itnulls definitely work the investment for the casters and cover which are not included.

Very much did this live up to my expectations. This is an amp I will have for a very long time, sure to be a collectornulls item one day.

I paid $450 US for this amp, and it came to me a little worse for wear. I had to buy a new Celestion and a fan for the electronics, but I was still under $600 when I was done, and it is like a new amp. The sound is so big and bad that one might drool....clean sounds are large, and with all the digital stuff this amp does, one can not be anything but impressed. This amp really kicks.

  Features

Dual tubes, stereo, 60 watts X 2, digital effects, amp modeling, guitar modeling, midi interface, power up the wazoo.....this amp has no rival out there. connection for up to 4 speakers, effects layering, or bypass, 4 separate volume controls, 3 band eq, 100 preset and 100 user patches.....spin the dial or stomp the pedal....it all works out. Normal and bright inputs.....wow!!!

  Playability

I donnullt have anything but good to say about this amp. It is purely amazing. If I could only have one amp, this would be the one.

  Quality

wood case is a funky design, and therefore subject to small cracks...that said, the sound quality is jaw-dropping fantastic. I havennullt heard a better amp.

  Durability

Must be good, mine took a kicking when it was delivered, and it still rocked. I replaced the speaker, and it rocked more; I replaced the fan, it rocked even more!!! It weighs a million pounds, but with wheels, itnulls all good.

Like I said before, if I could only have one amp, this would be it. I cannullt get enough of it. I have even used it, bypassing the effects, as a PA amp. The frequency response is amazing, even with vocals, keyboard, and electronic drums. If you have one, donnullt let it go. If you donnullt, then get one.
