HISTORY

III Nino is a nu metal band from New Jersey, USA. III nino are influenced by the nu metal band Soulfly, and share some similarities in sound and style, the most notable one being the south american influence on their music. The main difference would be the frequently used clean singing with screaming being less of a dominant part of the Ill Nino sound and guitar work focusing more on melody than soulfly does. They frequently use classical guitar melodies and Brazilian tribal percussion on top of a standard drum kit. They were originally called El Nino but changed to Ill Nino because El Nino was already taken by another band.

The lead singer Cristian Machado appears on the song "F.E." by the now disbanded group 40 Below Summer and on "Battle Lines" by E-Town Concrete. He also sings on the Roadrunner United song "No Mas Control" written by Fear Factory's Dino Cazares. Dave Chavarri also played on a Roadrunner United song "In The Fire" which was written by Matt Heafy of Trivium.
