I bought this in north bay Ontario at Acclaim sound and Lighting, very good store for modern day guitars and Basses i paid about $320 canadian with no tax and discounts

  Features

strong point on this bass is the the powerful active sound with the Phat EQ,but its to much for some amps i played on a 800 watt SWR and it was to much power, its perfect for 200 to 300 watt amps. I like to play alot of Rock, Metal and soft rock with it its the perfect bass for it.the Weak point i fount was that the strap buttons fell out on it,(tip)stick a tooth pick in the hole and screw it back in,minor repair but it holds nicely.

  Playability

most of the time i can reach My tone but for Korn i can not its not trebley enough for that style. the jazz pickups are very good deep punchy and up to enough treble for for popping and slapping

  Quality

the sound quality is great for the price you pay Alot of low end but not enought of both at the same time

  Durability

the reliability is good not the greatest if you on stage and the strap buttom falls out,5th string is good neck is good and adjustments are a common thing i do to my neck alot with down tuning to double b(flat)

  Overall

its good for rock players looking for a lower note great for fooling around on in the basement, not the best for slappers and poppers

I got my Ibanez GSR 205 at guitar center about two years ago for $200, which is an extremely good price if younullve ever played one. I bought it for the price, in addition to the fact that Ibanez is my personal favorite when it comes to basses. Donnullt be mislead by the $200 price tag; this is a very solid bass. I would reccomend it heavily for anyone just starting out, as it is better than most to all basses on the market for that price.

  Features

Good bass, the only problem that I have with it is the action. When I got mine, it was incredibly loose. Inullm a huge fan of KoRn, and while this bass isnnullt nearly as good as a K5, if you fool around with the tuning you can still get the KoRn sound. Except for that regard, itnulls a very solid bass as well as extremely cheap.

  Playability

Excellent for just about any type of music you would want to play. It dosennullt handle clean sounds as well as it can growl, but you can fool around with it and get the desired results simply by adjusting your amp. Like I said, better than just about any other bass on the market for the price and an excellent bass if you like to make metal. The two octave fretboard allows you to reach the higher notes as well. Personally, I think it sounds like the bass they use in Tool once you get to the 10th fret.

  Quality

Just awesome. No real flaws in the performance, although the lower frets tended to slip until I fixed the action.

  Durability

Once you get the action taken care of, this bass really takes care of itself.

Great guitar, perfect for the aspiring metal bassist. I moved up to the K5 because it was just a bassier bass, but I still play the GSR 205 if I want a sound like Tool.

I bought it about a month ago from my local academy of sound (norwich) for ?230.

  Features

This is a very nice bass and easily the best I tried up to the ?350 price range. What you get is pretty basic but good. Although on my edition they have added the active tone control which makes the sound more controlable.

  Playability

this performs very well, the only bass I have tried that has beaten it is a musicman. I can get what I want out of it, the only thing I can say is that it can be abit too bassy sometimes, but there is nothing wrong with that!

  Quality

Everything is to a high qualty, there is no buzz, which is a change to my old bass!

  Durability

When I first got this the action was all over the place but now I have sorted it all hat has to be adjusted is the strings. Apart from that this feels like a very reliable bass.

I chose it because it was really nice to play and easy to play as well, it was also one of the cheapest ones around, for its cost it is immense!
