I got this bass for my birthday about 3 months ago from basscentre.com.au My parents brought it for 530$ australian in a pack with a amp and everything else you need to start I chose it because it was recomended and i hered it was good

  Features

OK features only volume and tone controls pick-ups arnt the best so i would recomend you change them before you do any live gigs the classic shape of the bass is good in my opinion it looks better than most of the new basses you get now days

  Playability

The pick-ups werennullt the best but it was so easy to play and sounds good for a beginner it was nearly everything i wanted in a bass easy to play sounds good and dosent cost alot comapred to my friends ashton of the same price this bass absolute flogs it sounds alot better and is alot easyier to play

  Quality

The Drive amp i got with was ok but once you make it loud it isnt good. the pick-ups could be changed if u want a better sound but overall the quality is good

  Durability

Tuning is good hardly goes out of tune just the occasional ajustment Strap pegs are great never slipped once Inullve dropped it once or twice on cement and the likes and not even a chip out of the finish. Its a reliable bass but if you are going for a live gig always have a back-up bass no matter what

  Overall

I chose this bass because it was recomended by the store i brought it from and i can see why it is a great beginners bass i would recomend it to anyone starting bass its not very expensive and its great to play. Its easy to play sounds good and sounds even better if you change the pick-ups If you are starting get this bass and even if you have one its a good back-up bass

I got this bass for Xmas about two or three years ago. It came in a pack w/ an amp, picks, etc. Inullm into classic rock, Motown, funk, Primus, etc.

  Features

Out of the box, pretty standard, but good (with minor tweaking). Swap out pickups and younullve got yourself a sure-fire winner.

  Playability

Although this sounds clichenull, this bass plays like butter. Therenulls no other way to describe it.

  Quality

The amp it came with sucked. I plugged it into a hartke amp (my friends, donnullt know the model number. It was 100 watts though) and it was silent. In my Ibanez SW 65, very minor, almost inaudible hiss ( all w/ stock pickups). The tound really depends on the amp and if you choose to change the p.u.nulls. Built like a tank. Played better than a MIM Fender P-bass that I played in a music store. Inulld say itnulls on par with many of the American models being sold today.

  Durability

I love this bass! Recently, Inullve put SD Quarter Pounders in her and I must say, she sounds awesome. Also, the feel of this SQUIRE is unbelievable after setting the intonation and adjusting the neck to your liking. This beast is built solid. I love its simple design, apparently affordable price (online from $60 used to 130 new by itself) and construction.

  Overall

For whatever reason, I believe that people brand squires as "beginner" instruments because of the false stigma behind the name, pure nonsense. More than half of the people playing high priced instruments arennullt skilled enough to play / own them, and donnullt know anything about quality. Unless you have the money (and talent) to buy a hand built custom Carl Thompson (Les Claypool owns six) or the like, there is nothing that can touch this bass (if you mod it, you can wipe the floor with the others!); as a matter of fact, buy this bass, swap out the pickups and set it up. Younullll have a great bass, and younullll avoid the ridiculously inflated prices of other comparable P-basses!

I got this off the internet. It was the package and i thought it was a good deal. Im a beginner so i didnt want anything too expensive. I paid around $300

  Features

This is a solid Precision style bass guitar that is GREAT for beginners. The only thing i didnt like was the amp. I feel more work could have gone into it

  Playability

As a beginner, i thought this guitar was great. It is great.:)

  Quality

The guitar is great, but if you turn the amp really high, it tends to have noise problems

  Durability

This bass is great for practice as well as live gigs.

Get this guitar if younullre starting out. Or use it as a spare. Its great!

I bought mine at a small shop in El Cerrito, CA, called Music Works. It came in one of those starter packs with an amp and stuff for $319.00.

  Features

It has a maple neck and rosewood fretboard. Very nice Fender tuning pegs. It came built with a crappy 1-ply pickguard but that is replaceable. Only two knobs (One volume, one tone), only one Fender Precision pick-up.

  Playability

Compared to my les paul, this is crud. It could definitely use improving. I cannullt say that I get what everything I want out of it, but I get what I need out of it.

  Quality

Its got ok sound quality, but it could be alot better. I blew my amp a long time ago so I wouldnnullt know if it buzzed or anything like that.

  Durability

It doesnnullt need too much tuning and its pretty good for live gigs. VERY good strap pegs, theynullve never slipped for me.

  Overall

Inulld say, overall, its a very good beginer bass. I wouldnnullt recomend it to anyone past that level, but if younullre a begining bass player, go out and buy it right now!
