Review Fender Jaguar

Review by a visitor on 23.7.2005

I bought it straight from the Fender company through my guitar instructor, so it came straight from the factory. I paid $14,50.00 It is an American Vintage Series 62null reissue Jaguar, and I got it in Vintage 3-color sunburst.

  Features

This guitar is very versitile. It has a rhythm and lead circuit with volume and tone controls on each circuit. Pickup on/off switches and a High pass filter switch. It has strat pickups slightly modified with metal teeth on each side known as keepers...which reduce hum and give it a twangier punchier sound..This guitar also has a shorter scale neck 24.5 I think....which gives it quicker action.

  Playability

This guitar plays like butter, the action is so smoothe and silky, you can move up and down the fretboard so quickly, especially since it has a shorter scale than others.

NOTE: to keep the smootheness while playing, wipe it down after every use with the included polishing cloth, NO POLISH ON IT!!!!!!! If you do want to polish it spray the polish on a seperate cloth [(not directly on the guitar) that will increase the chances of getting a polishy residue on your guitar], buff it in then use a seperate clean cloth to buff some more to dry it. DO NOT GET THE POLISH ON THE METAL PIECES!!!!!!!!!!!! wipe those down with the seperate clean cloth....

If you follow these directions your guitar will look bran new for a long time.

  Quality

The sound is terriffic!!!!!! I love it, The keepers reduce hum and give it a nice crisp blues sound...Perfect for blues and surf.....

People say you cant play grunge with this guitar, but they are wrong...I am in an alternative/grungish band and you just need to tweek your settings a bit and you can do it..

  Durability

This thing is built to last, Its made from solid Alder. It has a thick finish and beautiful color.

People tend to not like the bridge on this guitar but there are things you can do without having to buy a whole new bridge or saddles.

Strings do tend to pop out of place every one in a great while but it hasnt made my guitar out of tune.

BRIDGE SETUP:
The main string that pops around is the low E, and to fix that all you have to do is turn the low E saddle just a little bit. With the wrench thing that comes with the guitar just lower one saddle post on the low E saddle so it is turned a little bit vertical....

This is a diagram

If youre looking down the neck towards the body this is what the saddles would look like

e b g d a E
= = = = = \

So when you strum on it its basically just pushing the string towards the saddle and not out of place THE PROBLEM IS FIXED!!!!!!!!!!
you dont have to buy a mustang bridge

MY OPINIAN:

I rated all excellents, because this is the guitar of my dreams, it is so versitile and has such a beautiful tone....This is the greatest guitar ever!!!

I git it on ebay for abot 700 ¬ which i a little more than 700 $. It wa brand new and is a Japan reissue. I got it in January 2004.

  Features

I think it is a great guitar, I love the neck and like the body a lot. the only real downpoint is the bridge, the trings tend to jump out when you strumm hard. I heard that a mutang bridge would solve this problem. I personally don´t like the pickup becaue of the twangy surf ound, Inullll replaced them with two humbuckers. The Pickups are no downide, I think they ound great, jut not for the musik i prefere.

  Playability

it play jut great, The neck is quite thin and fits right into the hand. I knew it i a good guitar, but I didn#t expect it to be that good. Little downside, it is quite heavy, much heavier than a Strat.

  Quality

It sound great, no noise even with singlecoils.

  Durability

I never had any roblems, If you lokk at it... itnulls made to last.
