there are a few different HSS strats that i was looking at and i narrowed it down between the highway one and the $900 HSS with the s1 pickup. i chose mine because i didnnullt think i would switch to the single ever. |

The sound that comes out is amazing. even if i use a shitty amp it still sounds good but i like to use my marshall wich is a perfect mach for the fender. I hardly ever have to tune maybe once every 2 weeks even if i play the shit out of it. |

I am very glad i bought this guitar. I played the star spangled bannar and lunchlady land for over 5,000 people at my school assembly and everyone thought it sounded awesome. The pickguard is white and the humbucker is black and people always ask me how much it cost to put the pickup in and i say it came that way |

I purchased this guitar from Musiciannulls Friend in February of 2005 for roughly $369.99. It is a Fender Standard Strat HSS, or also know as a Fat Strat (as listed on Musiciannulls Friend).

The appearence is quite stunnin on this. I chose the arctic white body with a maple neck. It looks very similar to Jimi Hendrixnulls "Woodstock" strat. What drove me to this guitar was the humbucker pick up in the bridge. The pick ups are perfect on this guitar for straight clean sound, but with effects is a little skeptical and you have to play with EQ and amount of effects to balance it all out. I generally play the Neck and Middle single coils, which still shocks me considering I play metal. Those two pick ups provide a nice rich n mellowed bassy sound. The Humbucker on itnulls own buzzes depending on where your at and all, but it has excelent treble sound. The humbucker with the middle gives you a little of the best of the humbucker on itnulls own and that of the neck with middle. Itnulls possibly a great selection for a little voluem boost/soloing. However, this is all after adjusting the pick ups (Neck-Up Middle-slanted with low e end higher up Humbucker-slated horizontally). The tone knobs are ok, they donnullt offer much help, I generally keep them both fully up, soemtimes I take one down all the way. The tremelo is nice. It is a pain if you use lower tunnings as these tunnign will pull the bridge out more, and will require adjustment from the back pannel. I also noticed a bit of buzzing from when I used the tremelo at times. To resolve this, I moved the two out springs straight instead of diagonal. The neck is key on this guitar. You can never go wrong with a maple neck, it is so smooth and beautful to the eye. In the past, I have played rosewood necks (some of which had a heavy finish which made it slippers ie squier m-50), and never have my hands moved so freely than on a maple neck. Itnulls eye candy, but it can back itnulls self if you know hwo to tweak it right. |

I often compare this to my first guitar, a squier affinty strat (mainly just because that was a strat) and this just blows it away (kind of a no brain with the whole squiier vs fender concept). It does what you woudl think you can do with a a strat. When compared to my Squire M-50, there is some difference, both good and bad. Frist, I cannullt do dropped tunings (no DADGBE or CGCFAD) or else it messes with the tremelo and that tends to make the lower tunned string break easier. My M-50 can handle that. |

The quality sound varies on the way you set up the pick ups and the amount fo effects put on. The neck and middle pick ups have a bassy tone wher as the humbucker in the bridge is very treble. Noise also varies upon your location and all. |

I havennullt encountered any serious issues yet. Everything moves as it should. Itnulls pretty steady and all, tunning holds well with the tremelo. No complaints here. |

The guitar is a good one. It took me getting this guitar to realize that I like my squire a lot better than I thought I did. I am considering a epiphone flying V now, but that is only because I wan three guitars for my band (one dropped C, one d tuning, and one standard-prolly my strat) |
