Review Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass

Review by a visitor on 3.1.2008

Bought in San Antonio, Texas $695 + Uncle Samnulls % @ just over $700

  Features

P/J Pickups w/volume controls for each, along with variable tone controlnulls "versatility" is the best idea yet.
It Rips out tight tones on high end and on Thumps "Smoothly" on the low end! Simply a GREAT package!
I am VERY, VERY happy! This will be the last Bass I ever have to buy...
I basically got 2 guitars for the price of 1. What a concept...what a country!

  Playability

The best Bass I have ever had the opportunity to play. I have had a simple Precision Bass for over 20 years...I have shared, played and tried out many others, both P & J. I wanted both P & J Options. So, It worked out perfect. And she ("Black Betty") is simply beautiful. Bamm.. Ba. Lam!

  Quality

Sounds just beautiful in either a combination of P/J or singular Precision or Jazz set up. She is soft and tight just like I thought she would be when I first layed my eyes on her...She is a Perfect fit for my 6 foot 225 frame. She fits in well with either my Jazz or Rock and Roll friends.

  Durability

It will last a Lifetime....Duh...? Its a Fender...!

  Overall

Fender Quality has always been outstanding. The guitar is just absolutley "Perfect"!
I think...I am in Love...I take her in my bed room and polish her up every night...(My Girlfriend is actually complaining that I am spending to much time with my new girlfriend. Ha! Ha!)
I feel just like a little kid again...Finest guitar I have laid my eyes and hands on to date...

Thanks to Leo Fender and the other Fender brothers that designed the P & J Models. The "Mix" is the best part of the two pickup P & J configuration...
Gotta work it a little...But...there is a very unique sound in the middle...

The guitar is obviously, VERY good looking and well made.
With No pun intented. I think the word is Bodacious?

She is Very soft to the touch, full bodied, tight, and real HOT!

I bought my baby through musicians friend sorry to say, but it was the cheapest deal out there. i got it for 629.99. i had played up at guitar showcase, for you guys in the bay area, and it played fuckin like pussy.

  Features

the styling on this bass is sick, all black with cream binding and smokey chrome hardware. and its pretty damn lite too, bady is basswood, not as low endy as something made of alder or ash but it still sounds awesome.oh and its got a P-J setup

  Playability

as you guys know, this is a jazz bass and you can set this thing up to the action as low as you want or higher up to really dig in.

  Quality

there is some noise but that is expected from single coil pickups.

  Durability

mine has taken a beating and it still plays and sounds perfect since i bought it 3-4 years ago. although i do maintance it 1-2 time a week so it doesnt look like its been through much.

if anything happened to me aerodyne i would definetly buy a another because theynullre so kick ass. it has also grew onto me as like my signature bass, cause i havent seen anyone in sc county with one and if bring a different bass to gig people ask why i didnt bring me aerodyne. anyway, if looking to spend 600-700 on a new bass, go try one of these out and younullll love it. inullm working towards a spector euro lx now.
