The sound of this guitar is good and to me the coolest thing about it is that its lighter than the other guitars ive had and the thing i didnt like was that it only has one tone knob and one volume knob instead of two of each but other than that its all right |

Thatnulls my opinion, I have 2 years with this guitar and never failed to me... |

I love the Les Paul body. It has a good strong shape and the cutaway design leaves very little work to get to the high frets while soloing. It feels very natural while playing it and itnulls not nearly as heavy as itnulls big brothers. The action on this guitar is also amazing for a les paul. It made everything from rhythm to solonulls very easy to perform. |

When it comes to playability this guitar halls some major ass. I am an extremely versitile guitarist and I play almost every type of rock music and this thing can play every single type of tone I need. The humbuckers get major crunch when the distortion is maxed with fairly little feedback and gets crystal clear tone on clean channels and settings. Mark my words and read this closely. This is NOT a Gibson Les Paul by any means. It is not perfect but for a $200 guitar this thing is amazing. |

The Les Paul Special is extremely good when it comes to sound quality. I guarentee you that you can get whatever sound you want from this thing with the right settings. I havennullt had one incident where the guitar tone was too painfully high or so low that it sounded dead. It handles effects very well too. Especially the fact that a Reverb effect doesnnullt sound overhelmingly watery and dead with the Lp. It also has almost eliminated the problem of major amounts of feedback in cheaper guitars. |

This is a varied catagory when it comes to the Les Paul Special. There is rarely a need to tune it even during long serious practices and the hardware and sound of this guitar are very stable so they can perform to perfection during a live show, it does have problems with itnulls construction. When I first got my guitar the bridge was damaged but it was easly repaired. Also while changing strings for the first time the tailpeice that held the strings in fell right off the damn thing. That one I actually fixed with my bare hands by jamming it back on. Itnulls still there after a month. If you get this guitar expect problems with it early on. Just about everything is easily fixed or cheaply repaired. Just donnullt cry if your new baby has problems from the start. |

Overall, despite all of itnulls shortcomings especially when compared with the standard, this is a great guitar. You get the les paul body and an almost gibson quality sound for less than have the price of the epiphone standard. What else could you ask for without sounding like a greedy little snot? My advice is to get this guitar now, play the sh** out of this one, and in the meantime save for up for those bad boy Gibsons because this thing will probably last you until then. |

This one is made in China but not sure when. It is fitted with 10-46 gauge strings and uses 2 open coil humbuckers. It also has 1 tone and volume and a 3 way selector switch. Some may say that the 1 tone control is not enough, but I feel that simplicity is the best and you can still get pretty decent tones. |

The factory set up was good, pickups work fine and no complaints yet as to poor tuning pegs and selector switch. Though one complaint is the strap buttons. They work fine with my crappo cheap strap, but when I use my more expensice one, because of the thnickness of the tips on one side of the strap, I have a real trouble putting it on, and when I do, the strap button is wrecking my strap. |

This guitar is perfect for what I play which is lots of punk rock like the clash, sum 41 and greenday. This guitar is especially suited to the newer American Idiot green day stuff since you would have noticed that Billie Joe is using a Gibson Les Paul Junior. I can also get a wide range of tones with the switch and tone control. Though you need to get a decent amp to fully appreciate this since by crappy 10w amp buzzes sooooo much when the tone gets too heavy. |

I think this is a perfect match for any style of music and if you want the Gibson Les Paul sound but dont have the pocket for it, the Special is definitely a good choice. Also the actual look of the guiatr is awesome (vintage sunburst) and to the untrained eye, this guiatr looks like it could be worth a few bob (money). |

The first things i did were set the innotation and action, pot the pickups, refinish the frets and lower the action, which, by the way, made it 10 times better without spending a penny! I have also changed the tunernulls (cos theynullre crap!!) now this thing is a workhorse with a beautiful sound. |

I think with the few alterations i made this is a fantastic guitar especially for the price, but, as i have seen, this can be possibly the best guitar given a decent chance in life by a guitar tech (like me). It can hit a satifying sweetspot anywhere on the fretboard which is more than can be said about a squire with a set up (those buggers are too flimsy and really poorly built). |

The sound from the guitar (with potted pickups) is strong enough to lead a band, and with a few subtle effects, is quite versatile. I havennullt had any buzzing or feedback and i use a marshall lead 100 on 10 which was actually enough to give my 59 reissue severe feedback problems!! |

I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!! It is ideal for a beginner or a professional, and is also great fun to work on, the elecrics are so simple it is possible to do a bit of customising to them with no reference to any literature, you just need common sense. I always recommend this guitar to people that come to my shop for advice, and tell them to bring it to me for a little work (Really! a little, it took me an hour to fully bring mine up to scratch!)

This is a beginners guitar, plain and simple. With the money it would cost to get the tuners and pickups replaced, and after a few fret jobs (younullll need them, believe me) You might as well have picked up a LP Standard, standard plus or custom. If you want a better quality beginners guitar, go for a Squier. |

I have to admit, although Inullm more concerned with overall sound and functionality, that the first thing that attracted me to the LP spec. mod. was that unmistakable look. Minenulls the classic tobacco fading into black. Paint and finish are absolutely beautiful. Best looking guitar in itnulls price range in my opinion. Nice action on this gat. very good for beginner, i believe, due to the fret spacing, access to highnulls and solid build. It does have a tendency to lose tune...esp. if u play it hard, but holds it well enough to play on stage, i think. Inullm getting a little noise from the pickups too, but nothing that cannullt be ignored. Most of the equip. seems to be really good quality, but the knobs are kinda hacky, and the toggle has a loose, kinda cheap feel and look to it...especially with the rhythem/treble identifier slapped on there. Just got the LP Special home from Guitar Center, Rockville, MD ($149.99) and I could not be happier. It has a very nice warm tone and screaming leads with good sustain. The neck is not as wide as a genuine LP but that suits me. The action on this is fine off the shelf (although Inullll have my tech tweak it a bit). It does not do justice to the upper register notes however, and the breadth of sounds appear to be more limited than a genuine LP. However, it does give a genuine LP tone in areas.
I have other guitars similarly priced (Yamaha Pacifica, Squire Strat) and this is by far the better guitar in tone and playability.

you all know what it looks like - mines cherry red lacquered tho - far and away one of the prettiest guitars inullve ever seen regardless of quality. love the shape, always loved the les paul shape since i first got intronulld to led zep and jimmy page was cranking one up.... controls are good, i prefer the pickup switch low as it seems easier to flick when playing. pot crackles a little sometimes but not badly. tone goes from crisp to muddy with a quick roll of the tone knob - sometimes a nuisance nullcause its TOO touchy. volume knobs a volume knob, what else can i say? pickups seem good, i switched up from a takamine electric with two open humbuckers and the sound is similar. havennullt fiddled with them much but theynullve got the usual adjustments available. bridge the same, love that solid les paul bridge feeling... inullll probably upgrade the machine heads at some stage as they seem a little loose and i think theynullre contributing to it dropping out of tune every so often. for the $ involved and the amount i use it....i reckon its good value. |

doesnnullt seem to be a lot of hum from it (my effects unit makes more noise....bleh) its got light action and an easy touch so minimal fret buzz (unless i have lazy fingers!) love the ease i can acheive wide bends with it - great bluesy sounds which i enjoy playing with. sound is clear and consistent - got to give it a good again! |

used the gat for mucking round at home, odd bit of four track work but mostly practicing. need to tune it regularly - need to get the tech to tweak it a little i think... would be good to crank up on stage - holds it tuning for most of a long session depending how hard i am on it. no failure in any other hardware yet - everything looks and feels solid. not used it in enough different situations to tell if its rock-solid so will give it an average rating. |

nice on the eye, easy on the ear, fair on the fingers, light on the wallet. for a beginner/hobbyist/garage band this is a good starting point. i got it because i love playing at home and i figured i wanted something i liked the look of too so i was initially influenced by its staggering good looks. once i got past that and especially over the last couple of months as its gotten more and more use, inullve grown to love this wee beauty to the point where i want to play it all day (and sometimes do!) overall, for the $ paid, the results gained and the immense pleasure i get from playing it, its worth its weight in gold. still, not being a multi-gat owner and i can only give it a good rating as i know theres flashier, fancier gear out there....(i look at some of it and drool!) that said, i am never parting with this gat as i regret selling my last electric....dnulloh! love it! |

I boutght my LP special model at ebay a couple of months ago, I think it was about $200 (new)

Something i really like about the LP specialnulls phisical, is that it os classic, but is also kind of modern. it has a very sweet sound, and good pickups. The thing i donnullt like is that there are some parts that look like plastic when they really arent. the guitar is kind of heavy if you compare it to others, but i prefere heavy guitars becouse i kind of feel that i am under control, not like flying around. one thing I dont like is that the cable plug is at the bottom(I like it but just when standing up) it looks cool there, but when you are sitting down on a bed or something, the cables begin to damage |

It has a good playability, it is comftrable, sounds nice, and it is soft. It is much better than other guitars i have played on. not the best, but defenetly not the worst. |

I really like the sound of it, it is very sweet. It only makes sound with crappy calbes and amps. some people complain that their LP specials are not so comfrable of that they do not sound very well, I took my guitar to an expert and he calibrated it, and now it sounds much much better than when it was new |

I am not so sure about the durability becouse it is kind of new, but I just had to tone it like 4 times while tha strings are streching, but after I neverhad to do it again. Once, my picher jumped on my guitar, and I allmost kill him, but there was not once scratch. I think that all guitars should be durable as long as people people take care of them, clean them, dry the string after playing for long periods of time, and oviosly not leting it fall. im gonna grade and exellence becouse i have no probs with it |

really like this guitar, good looking, sounds good, very good for beginners and a little more advanced. REcomendations be freakin picky, do not let a anyone that dont know grabb it, calibrate it, it becomes softer and the sound is better. xspataro@hotmail.com |

The guitar itself looks very good. It offers the styling of a Les Paul for a fraction of the price. It has volume and tone knobs, a rythym and treble switch, and two open coil humbuckers. The only thing I didnnullt like was no pick guard. I like guitars with pick guards. But I like this one as well. |

The band I am in plays mostly Green Day style of music. It is perfect for what I use it for. Sounds great and looks fantastic. |

The sound quality is above par. In my opinion there wasnnullt enough tone difference in the rythym treble swtch to notice a difference desired. |

The les paul special model (epiphone) which i bought was bought in a local guitar shop called nicholl bros. It cost £195 but in a sale for £175 but the nice lady gave me an extra 10 quid off it.

It has two humbuckers and a Rythem/tremblo swich and is in sunburst colour. It sounds amazing in an amp and uses .10 gauze strings. It has 3 maCHINE HEADS ON EACH SIDE (woops about caps lock) Medium weight. Looks like like les paul but toggle switch is at bottom instead of top. Glass-like volume and tone knobs which look cool. |
