Review Earth Fire Acoustic Bass

Review by a visitor on 22.8.2004

I bought this bass 6 months ago from a shop in Wales. I paid 240 pound for a guitar which was worth 269, which is an amazing bargin as far I am concerned.

  Features

This bass sounds amazing unplugged and is a great acoustic accompaniment to an acoustic guitar, however the thing that impressed me the most is the superb sound it makes when played therough an amp. Mine has a wood finish and looks the business. The medium sized body is not as big as the other basses I tried so the unplugged sound isnt as loud but is still enough to play with an acoustic guitar without any amps. The plus side to the size of the body is the practicality of it. It feels a lot more comfortable to play than the larger acoustics especially if you are used to playing an electric.

  Playability

I played a couple of crafter acoustic basses, an artisan and a vintage acoustic all of which were more expensive, but did not come anywhere near the quality and sound of this bass.

  Quality

The acoustic sound is warm and rich as is the sound when it is plugged into an amp. With the 4 band eq the range of sound is impressive for an acoustic.

  Durability

I have used this guitar in the garden with my mates jamming on a summer day, in my bedroom chilling out, and in live gigs and whenever I play it, it always matches the occasion.

  Overall

This acoustic bass is a must have for the price, even though there are better acoustics out there they will cost you a lot more .In its price range you are getting a professional bass for an excellent price.
