I bought this pedal online at www.musiciansfriend.com about 2 weeks ago. I paid around $40 for it. I was simply looking for a pedal that would make my practice amp sound better until my performance amp could be fixed.

This pedal has a great overdrive that sounds very similar to a vintage tube amp. It has nice features, such as tone controls and a mixer output. The only thing that some people might not like is the noticeable midrange boost. Other than that, this is a great pedal for soloing and getting a good sound. |

The pedal is very versatile, almost anyone can have their desired overdrive sound. It is more controlable than other OD pedals. |

This pedal is surprising quiet when in use, not too much feedback. The sound quality is clear and nice. |

This pedal is made of metal, not cheap plastic, so it is very durable. The only adjusting needed is rotating the knobs to get the sound you want (this pedal is very versatile). I have not taken this thing to a gig yet, but I will probably take it to my next one. |

I chose excellent because this pedal has exceeded my expectations, and I will not be sending the Bad Monkey back. I chose this pedal to get a better sound from my amp and to give my solos a boost, and that is what it gave me. |

It doesnnullt have billions of knobs but it does what its supposed to do, produce an amplified, slightly clipped signal with a boosted midrange. One of the cool things you can do with it, is if you have a really clean tube amp (think a fender blackface) you can turn the gain all the way down and just use it as a clean boost and obviously it will give you some more volume but it will make the tubes break up just a little for a bluesy sound. On the other hand if you have a tube amp that has a vintage sounding distortion (think JCM900) and you crank the gain up all the way on the amp and the pedal, you get a really nice fuzzy sound, especially on the low end. Some people dont like the midrange scoop (non-adjustable) you get from the pedal, personally I have not found anything wrong with it except it tends to make your guitar a tad muddy in the mix sometimes. |

This pedal sounds better than any model of tubescreamer (vintage or reissue) any day. Great for giving you an authentic tube sound with a solid state amp, or either a blues, crunch, or fuzz sound with a tube amp. |

Had to rate it at "Good" because they didnt install anything to block the 60 HZ hum with the adapter, other than that no problems. |

As always, itnulls a digitech stompbox so itnulls built like a tank, the paintjob isnt the strongest though, I have had the pedal for 2 years and the paint is chipping in spots. The stomp switch is very durable as well, this would really stand up well to a rough gig. |

Durable, versatile, pedal. If you want a tubescreamer, look no further than the Digitech Bad Monkey. |
