At my local music store, i paid about 80$ for it.

  Features

Itnulls got lots of distortion but can sometimes get muddy like hell if you use it the wrong way, which is if you turn both gain knobs up to 10.

  Playability

Itnulls really good for players how need much low end or has a detuned guitar(or 7 stringed). However, if younullre looking for light distortion, like AC/DC style, i elive that you should lock after another pedal. With that, i donnullt mean that itnulls bad, but itnulls not really suited for easy rock.

  Quality

It doesnnullt have much noise and itnulls better than other pedals that promise the same thing.

  Durability

Very good if you want both good overdrive and really hard edge distortion. And with boss pedals you can always count on it. I have a friend that threw his pedal into the wall and it still works.

  Overall

I chose this one because it was my first pedal and i wanted something nasty. It really exceeded my expectations then and it still works good now.

bought it off of ebay for 90 bucks when it first came out, same price as a nyc big muff, but it has more then three knobs.

  Features

pretty neat features exactly what I was looking for in a distortion pedal. two distortions and bass and treble knobs. which i use pretty often. very very useful on the pedal. it lacks a noise suppressor but i forgive it because it has such a smooth tone its still easy to listen to. definately a pedal for loud types and minimal distortion types theres alot of options of distortion in this pedal, you just have to find the settings.

  Playability

sometimes its like heaven but sometimes i get so frustrated trying to find the perfect sound but this pedal is very versatile i usually stick to one setting most of the time just because i like it so much but it has other options and sounds different and smoother then most pedals by far.

  Quality

like i said very smooth soundand very versatile you can mess with this thing for awhile before you get tired of it. it has massive bass and a not to screaching high but gets good feedback with the combination of both overdrive and distortion.

  Durability

it has pretty sweet durability better then a ds-1 that pedal craps out after two years.

i was at music and arts in woodbridge VA summer of 2003 and bought it for $80.

  Features

Its a one effect boss foot pedal, orange with five knobs to costomize the sound you want. It includes gain boost, dist., tone, bottom, and volume. The battery is kept under the pedal. Takes a while to unscrew it and put everything together, but thats ok.

  Playability

Unless your looking for a particular distortion that must be perfect when you play, I would buy this. You can adjust the sound to your own delight using the adjustable knobs it has, and it variety in sound is awsome. Its got double the distortion of a regular pedal and isnt to exspensive.

  Quality

The sound quality of the pedal is amazing, better than most inullve ever heard. The sound is one of the strongest pionts of the pedal.

  Durability

This pedal is pretty good when it comes to durabilityInullve dropped it and stuff like that and it works fine, all the screws stay in place and nothing on the inside has fallan out of place so far.

  Overall

I would say this pedal is awsome. The only problem i have with it is power. It takes a 9v battery. You can use an adapter, but it has to be a Boss PSA adapter to work. Dont know why, and of couse thats going to cost enough. another thing with the battery is if you leave the cables in the input/output port, the batteries run out even if its off. Other than that every thing else is great, Sound, look, durability, and options. This is definetly one of my favoriet pedals of all time (unless they come out with a MD-3).

I bought this BOSS effects pedal from a local music store called Soundpad. I got it just after new years 2004, which is my birthday if you didnnullt know... Anyway, ahem, I paid £69.99 for it, and for the sound it makes Inullm surprised it wasnnullt more...

  Features

The BOSS MD-2 features level control, tone and bottom control and Distortion control. On top of the distortion control (not litterally) there is a gain boost control, for extra fuzziness! It has basic input and output jacks (1/4). Strong points are the amount of different sounds you can make just from a single pedal effect, sturdy, which is what you want from a pedal. Weak points are that there is a battery in it, and if you leave your cable in the input jack it wears it down...

  Playability

Like I said itnulls hard to reach results you want, I mean itnulls always possible, but takes a long time to find the right sound... Perform compared to others? Well, I tested an overdrive, super overdrive, distortion and a turbo distortion, but I chose the mega distortion cause it had the best sound of all of them...
But Inullm sure therenulls an even better one out there, whether itnulls BOSS or not...

  Quality

Brilliant quality, brilliant effects, performs better than most, and doesnnullt generate noise, actually itnulls cleard the noise I once had on my amp... So itnulls really good quality...

  Durability

Reliable, definutly! Needs quite alot of ajusting due to the level of fuzziness, again, like i said it can make alot of different sounds so itnulls hard to find the right sound you need to play along with a certain track...
Itnulls steady enough for live gigs, obviously, seeing as BOSS pedals are the most popular effects used by musicians...

  Overall

My opinion? Well I love it, perfect for Nirvana songs, and some zeppelin songs.... I chose it cause it was the best one of the lot, lives up to expectaions............ Inullm not considering a better one, I donnullt need to = )
