i got it from a privite dealer off ebay for $175 a few days short of a year ago. got it to replace a squire bullet

  Features

it looks good. thats really the only good thing about this guitar. after about $500-$600 into it it could be a great guitar but untill then its crap. its decent with destortion and not to bad clean. very bad tone though.

  Playability

it was great while it lasted. good with distortion and decent in clean. bad harmoic response. horrable pickups

  Quality

sounds ok but not a very good tone range.

  Durability

never stays in tune if you do bends or pinch harmonics. the tone, volume, 3-way toggle, and pickups all came unsoldered after only 11 months and paint chips easy and neck bows easy.

  Overall

dont get this enless you plan on severly upgrading it.
you get what you pay for with this piece of shit

I got this guitar, paying 100$ of the 180$ total from Music City just after christmas. I bought this because I'd never seen a bc rich before and was mesmerized by the style and affordability of it. It is not an actual warlock, it is a mock by galveston.

  Features

well, the tuning pegs suck, but they do tune it just fine, they are stubborn and screech a little bit. The neck is alright, 24 frets has me satisfied. But it seems harder to play than other guitars with my .010 red devils' on it. The pick-ups are okay, one regular metal style and one humbucker. Though the bridge does hurt my palm, i tend to mute more on the strings. Though, i remember about 2 and 1/2 months after i got it, there was an internal wiring problem, so i took it into guitar center and they fixed it for free =D. If this was a strat then id hate it, but style consumes me as im a heavy, speed metal rocker, and when i jam, i love it.

  Playability

i hate playing on .009's but there are other guitar's i've played that feel as easy as .009's but play like .010's and this definitly doesn't satisy.

  Quality

just as good as any mock guitar =/

  Durability

it has fallen over so many times [shut up lol] but it hasn't been affected at all.

  Overall

great for fooling people into thinking its awesome because of looks but if it were a strat, again, id hate it.

this guitar is AWEFUL! do not read the other reviews,i collect guitars and this guitar is noisy and gives feedback,it also has a bad action, the placement of the bridge scuffs up your palms when muting, the 5th string rings badly.

if you want a cool looking axe for a decent price buy the dean v (the 250$ or ? one).

If you buy this guitar (thats if you haven't stopped reading by now) replace the bridge pickup with something good.Like a seymour or a EMG,something with a nice warm tone.

it looks cool.thats about it.

  Features

the knobs fell off and stopped working and t finish cracks easily.

  Playability

the neck is fast, but it bows easily.

  Quality

bought it because it looked kinda cool, and i wanted a warlock because Mick from Slipknot has one.If you want a Slipknot guitar get a Jackson Dinky or a Soloist.Or an Ibenez (Old Mick)

  Durability

it falls apart.the knobs (as i have said) fall off and stop working, the neck pickup gave out on me and the bridge.....i replaced that pickup with a Seymour SH2.

  Overall

do not buy this steaming pile of garbage.Get a Epiphone or something nice,Get a Jackson, psh I swear by Jackson, the best tone i have ever heard.its a little more, but you get what you pay for.unless its a warlock,or any BC Rich for that matter.

I got it for christmas. It costed 150 bucks from Zzsounds.com. My parents bought it for me cuz they knew tht i needed an axe guitar.

  Features

This guitar has nice features. As far as i have played so many other guitars all the way from First Act (SH*T, tht one sucks), to Fender strats which were okay. But over all the BC Rich warlock is better then em all. The controls and pickups are good. The strings are pretty nice. Only problem is the straplocks are kinda hard to put the strap onto, their HUGE.

  Playability

Here it comes. This guitar is very easy to play. Very smooth. It is awesome. This guitar has like improved my playing by a hell of alot. I can like play nething from Death metal, to softer goth rock. It is good

  Quality

Let me run this down the line for you.
Sound Quality is very good on distortion and clean. Effects work really good wit it especially on death metal settings. I performs like 10x better than ne guitar i have ever messed wit. Prolly cuz they all sucked neway. this damn thing beats a stratocaster. It is not 2 loud but put it on a Marshall and it is loud. I got a MG-15CD and tht BITCH IS LOUD!

  Durability

I havent ever dropped it yet. But it is a solid guitar.

Overall i say buy this thing. u wont be dissappointed

I bought my neck-through warlock with a floyde rose bridge from greece for 950 euros a couple of years ago.

  Features

Comes with bc-rich pickups, floyde rose tremolo (a bit of a bitch to change strings but u dont have to tune it often. Unless u're changing your strings every other week.)

  Playability

Plays awesome, i play with .009 strings so its really soft and easy to shred. I was at a guitar center the other day trying out some guitars, i tried a gibson les paul which is a totally different category, so doesn't compare, but compared with the Vai signature series Ibanez it seemed to play just as good.

  Quality

It sounds pretty good with the default pick-ups although i'm considering changing them to possibly some EMG's. Haven't decided yet.

  Durability

Very steady, Have had it for a couple of years and i've never broken a string or had any problems with it

  Overall

I think it's awesome, shape is awesome, plays awesome, don't think i will be getting a new guitar any time soon. The thing is this guitar comes out in many edditions, if u get the cheapo $300 version obviously it wont be as good as the $950 neck-through version with floyde rose tremolo.

I got my Platinum series from The Rockshop in New Zealand (since I live there). Cost me NZ$895, which is a damn fine price.

  Features

It's a simple setup, two solid sounding humbuckers, three way toggle, two volume and tone. The Widow Headstock is a nice touch though, but a pain in the butt to tune at times, since the clearance between the sweeping curves is minimal. Mine came with an (annoying) trem bridge. I like the weight. It's heavy, yes, but I think that simply adds credibility to it's fearsome reputation. The scale length is a bonus too, allowing easy downtuning and a 24 fret neck.

  Playability

The neck is a bit slow, that's my only complaint. The tuning, once you've got it set up to match the bridge, is fine as long as you dont try divebombing your way in to the history books. The heavy varnish on the neck could have done to be a lot lighter, maybe a satin finish, simply to alow a bit more accuracy when using this brute.

  Quality

The Warlock is about what you expect for a good guitar at a great price. The sound is thick and heavy on the neck, with a bit more cut on the bridge, though it does not sacrifice ball-breaking bottom end to do it. Your picking position can give you all sorts of tones without touching the knobs. The background hum is minimal at best, even on my crappy little amp. I've found ti to be more of a rhythm guitar, not a true lead guitar unless you're packing some decent effects. As a guitar designed to kick audiences in the teeth, it performs marvelously.

  Durability

The Warlock is certain tough, though dropping it on tiles is not recommended. I managed to take two substantial chips out of the headstock and some of the body paintwork. Saying that, I've had no issues with the tuners, and the knobs work perfectly, with no sluggishness or looseness in the movement. The biggest issue is the trem bridge that came on my one. While a trem is nice, it's affected too much by string tension. Tune up a top string, and the bottom end falls away. Otherwise though, it's a very solid axe.

  Overall

Overall, this guitar is precisely what it should be - loud, brash, and ballsy. For the price, it's a bargain. I wouldnt advise the model I have to anybody looking for good trem action, but if you're a metal rhythm guitarist or you just like big, heavy tone, then I'd definitely advise this instrument. It has done me right for 2 years now, and hopefully for many more years to come.

i bought my bc rich warlock in 1990. it?s one of the orginal NJ-series, with serial number build in usa. i paid at that time 2250 dm. this is equal to 1126 euro. i live in germany, so i bought here in local music store.

  Features

what could i say about this guitar. the look and the shape didnt need any explanation. it had an mahagony body with an maple top. the neck is maple too with thick rosewood fingerboard. the tremolosystem was build by floyd rose.
default it was deliverd with two humbuckers (neck and bridge position) two volume and one tone poties. the hardeware is black. the first color was ivory-metalic white, but i changed the color because the lacquering wasn?t so good.
now it?s black with an airbush.
( if you like you can see a picture here:http://home.arcor.de/j.doebler/Webseiten/Vergroesserungen/halloween.htm)

  Playability

after the change of the pick up the sound was amzing in every range, clean or distorted. the neck is easy to play solos or fast riffs and licks. the handling is fantastic. also it works great with studio working

  Quality

i had also a peavy vandenberg from the same year and fender stratocaster from 1967. an i think all these guitars incl. the bc rich warlock a great guitars. every guitars had their special sound and qualities.

  Durability

the reliablety of the hardware is amazing. when the neck had correct fret placemt ( hope it?s corerect the german meaning is "bundrein") it didn?t changed. the same apply to the floyd rose system.

the pick up?s aren?t so good. they wheez and there was a permanet buzzing.
so i changed them.
this guitar is the one and only heavy metal and hard rock axe. therefore i remove the neck pick up. for the bridge pick up i set an emg 81.

  Overall

my opinion for this guitar:it?s a real drudge. it never let me down. in the studio, live or by practicing wirh the band. and i plaeyed it now for over 14 years !!!!!!!!

I bought my bronze series a year ago for 405euro. I got it in Ireland and i have played many gigs with it and so far it hasnt let me down once.

  Features

I find the bridge and neck perfect even tough alot of ye rate it bad. Altough the pick ups get in my way some times. The better the model the better the sound exept for the signature series, because that is the same as the bronze series. Other then that i love its style and fetures.

  Playability

It is designed for rock, altough i can get any sound out of mine. I find it good for heavy parts and solos. Even melo songs.

  Quality

100% sound all the time and can preform brillant. I rather it then my other guitars(which are a "gibson sg gothic", and a "fender strat")

  Durability

It doesnt give up at live gigs and can take alot of abuse. It will stay in tune all night and is extremly reliable.

  Overall

It has a letal look and sound.I love to play it. Wouldnt change it and dont regret getting it. Hope i never put it down.

This was my first guitar which I bought about six months ago for only ?120 because of some slight damage to the headstock. Mine is a Mick Thompson Signiture Special Series and hasn't failed me yet.

  Features

It has a fixed bridge which annoys me sometimes but I hardly use a tremelo anyway. It hasn't got many different sounds but if its a metal sound you want it perfect. The frets are a little bit big for my liking but im used to my Fender's smaller neck, although it has got 24 frets which is needed for solos if you decide to tune yoru guitar down.

  Playability

Sounds nice but like i said before, I'm now used to the smaller neck of my Fender so this is slightly strange to play but the neck it nice to hold and although this guitar is all pointed and jaged, its great to hold.

  Quality

Gives an absoloutly brilliant metal sound but thats about it.

  Durability

I let mine get completly trashed. Dents and chips in it all over the place and the headstock is messed up but this guitar still plays like a dream. I drop it, throw it, jump around with it and just generally go crazy with it and it never loses it's tuning unless it's tuned down to dropped B in which case it still only goes out rarely.

  Overall

It looks great. If your a metal guitarist, it's a must have guitar but id rather get a higher series than just the Sig Special.

I bought my Warlock from Musician's Friend, the Metal Master Pack, for $250.

  Features

All in all, it's a good guitar, better than my other two, a strat wannabe and a Wal-Mart brand. It would've been better if the bridge wasn't fixed, but the tribal designs kinda make up for that.

  Playability

The Warlock is definitely better than my other two. I can play better solos with it, 'cause it has 24 frets, the others have 19 and 20.

  Quality

The quality is excellent, I guess.

  Durability

When it arrived it was tuned perfectly, and has stayed that way. However, the Tone knob is a little loose.

  Overall

Overall, this is an excellent guitar. I chose it, 'cause it was on sale, and got more than my moneys worth, but when I get enough money, I'll probably get a Jackson Warrior XT, or make my own.

my local music sjop, twas second hand and ?250

Tis a NJ series with a six in a row headstock

  Features

The shape of this guitar is a mental version of a strat, with bits cut out and shape edges, that make it look nucking awesome, the controls are simple and precise, 2 volume and 1 tone and a 3 way toggle switch, however i don't like toggle switches, i prefer blade switches, more reliable

  Playability

this guitar plays like a dream, it sits just where you need it to be, with just a lil bit of wieght to resist against you, allowing you to abuse the guitar and fling it about knowing that it will come right back at you. fret access is good, however my warlock doesn't have a fast action heel, doesn't matter tho, i have big hands

  Quality

the soound is crystal clear, due to having seymour duncan designed pickups, neck pup is warm whilst the bridge pup is as mean as a rusty razor, its better than my strat or les paul, and its even better than my friends rg ibanez custom

  Durability

the previous owner had dropped it a few times and it had the characteristc BC Rich chips on the tips of the shart bits, adds character i think, however black nail polish will cover it up nicely

  Overall

the best thing i could have spent 250 quid on, if you don't have a warlock your obviously a sissy, or a emo fan, either way.....

B.C. Rich Platinum Series Warlock, with Kohler Floyd Rose bridge. Neck - an alleged Gibson Humbucker, Bridge - standard B.C. Rich platinum series humbucker. Not sure how old it is, whether Floyd Rose bridge is stock. It was purchased in a pawn shop in Hamilton, Ontario for a total of 216$ with the case!

  Features

The Warlock is a hefty guitar, and it takes a real man to carry it. I mean really, it will make your arms bigger! My initial impression was 'this is difficult to play with'. But it's sturdy, and has a distinctive sound. Dark, sinister. The Kohler FR bridge is an interesting feature that i've never seen on any othe BC Rich. The new versions are all using the licensed FR, or the speed loader. It works out pretty well. The controls are good, I mean, I'm not too picky. Volume, and tone. Plus a tone switch. 3 way pickup selector for two humbuckers.

I've played many guitars, and many other Warlocks, but this was probably one of the best used instruments I could have got my hands on, all it needed was some TLC when I acquired it. Intonation, and some re-tightening style maintenance.

Right now it's in the shop having an EMG 85 and EMG 81 installed in the neck and bridge. Should sound amazing when it comes back, tuned in C.

I really reccomend the current models of platinum pro series warlock, it really is a great sounding axe, and much easier to play than the model I have. As long as you have no prejudice to it's crazt-ass style... this guitar really provides a unique playing experience.

  Playability

Compared to other metal guitars on the market, the Warlock is probably one of the heaviest. Even larger guitars don't out-weigh this medieval weapon shaped thing. I still remember the first time I ever saw a Warlock, that's what kind of impression it's shape leaves on the viewer. I coincidentally ended up owning one many years later. I still remembered the shape perfectly. How unique.

A jagged, heavy weighted, axe shaped monster. A true metal guitar.

However, it's dimensions does have drawbacks. The Warlock is a bit tough to play at first, and will give your arms and hands a good workout. I played the Warlock for a few months, then picked up an SG. My hands felt magical when I moved onto LTD's and other easier to play instruments.

  Quality

The pickups on the Bronze edition are trash. But it's the beginner's model, and as you progress to the higher level models, the pickups are actually quite good. I bought mine second hand, the pickups were kinda old and trashed, yet they still sounded good enough to play for about a year and a half. EMGs are being installed right now.

It's sound is distinctive, and it can serve as a rythym guitar as well as a lead guitar, as long as you have the strength to master it, like I said, it can be difficult to play!

The overall quality of the instrument is better than average, and of good quality for the price. Of course, depending on the model. The custom shop puts out some real hype ones.

  Durability

As old and worn as my Warlock is, it stays in tune for a long time, I rarely have to adjust the tuning, or struggle with it, even when I'm going from standard to C and back. As long as I've had it, I broke one string, due to overplay. Only two other strings have broken on it from the mistreatment of others. A friend of mine dropped it on the pavement in the garage, it suffered no visible damage. The corners were already a bit chipped and scraped when I bought it, so I keep the corners padded with a small application of electrical tape. Which is a point I would bring up to the buyer! It's real easy to scratch as it is a very jagged piece of wood.

All in all, I would trust it to lasting an entire show, and to stand the test of time.

  Overall

I bought this instrument when I was poor, in college, and needed to take up guitar again. It was a good guitar for the price, and I have spent some money over the time I've had it to polish it up a bit. It performs way beyond my expectations, as I thought it was near the end of it's life cycle when I bought it.

I record in my house, and receive compliments all the time about how different the guitars in my mixes sound, as well as at jam sessions.

Normally, I admire LTD EC's and all the coolest metal guitars out there, but for some reason this outcasted guitar has grown on me. If you're considering a different kind of guitar, perhaps the Warlock could be for you.

Guitar Center Cincinnati Ohio B.C. Rich Bronze Warlock I paid $150 list $300

  Features

The action isnt impressive. the bridge scratches your wrists because of the placement of it. the volume knob wired came unsoldered after a year and I kinda had to wiggle it for it to work. Very poorly made.

  Playability

the tone is ok and the pickups can be noisy. my jackson i paid $200 for (list $400) is much much better than the Warlock (list $300). I have never had a problem with it even though i played it 4 times as much and had it a few years longer.

  Quality

pickups are noisy.doesnt perform well.

  Durability

The Volume knob stopped working well, the input jack came unsoldered even though i barely played it

i mainly bought it because it was cheap and it looked pretty cool. i had a jackson before it and now a Gibson Les Paul.

Online, real cheap discount for ?160 but usually ?210

  Features

The guitar is a real looker, Sound wise its brilliant. It can make some really metally chunky sounds and works well with distortion.

  Playability

It feels natrual in your hands, frets are nice and easy put down and is generally good for rippin' up the place.

  Quality

Like i said before the guitar goes well with distort and makes a real metal sound. It doesnt go out of tune easily, though iv heard some nightmare stories of them doing that all time, maybe its the 6 a side heads are easier to go out of tune than the 3 a side heads.

  Durability

WTF!? im not sure if this is just a cheap finish but the other day i dropped a small coin on it accidentaly and there a chip. You dont have to tap it hard to chip it, though i dont dare see how much it takes. This seriously pi**sed me off.

  Overall

This guitar is generally Good all round guitar, and a good alternative to the more expensive platinum warlock. Its a real looker but watch out for bumps cuz it seems to me my guitar has a thin finish which annoys me to levels you would not beleive.

I bought my warlock at the local music store...for the price is it rockin. i purchase the bass version of it, not sure what version, but i paid $200. I've own it for a bout a year and it is my main axe, aside form a fender and a washburn.

  Features

I like the bolt on neck as aposed to throught the body and the head stock is sweet. the only real down fall, in general, is its massive wieght. it ways as much as a truck. Thankfully i'm rather strong so its not that much of a burden, but for small bassist, this could be a major downfall

  Playability

this thing plays like if it were an extension on my arms. it feels so natural that i forget that i'm palying an instrument

  Quality

Very deep, dark, and monotonus. this things is the musical equivolent of hell...with strings!

  Durability

it can stand anything you throw at it. ten to one odds, you could use it as a melee weapon then shred the ears of your fallen victim w/ the same warlock

  Overall

buy this or Mick Thompson from slipknot will come after you and destroy you

i bought my warlock about 6 months ago and i love it! i got it for a great price from a friend of mine, only $160!!! anyways its the bronze warlock, but its an older version(it has the same headstock as a platinum warlock)

  Features

Its a very good guitar, but its rather heavy. I love the 3 way tone switch, really fast and easy adjustment. Its got a great tone to it, one of the best guitars ive ever played.

  Playability

The shape of the guitar makes it really accessible, I usually play sittin on a stool and it sits perfectly on my leg. After a while of playing standing up, my shoulder gets kinda tight because of the weight.

  Quality

It sounds great, even played thru a crappy amp. In mellow songs, theres little to no feedback depending on how you set your amp. I play mostly heavy, and it sounds awesome with the distortion. Its hard to explain really, its just a rich sound.

  Durability

Alot of people have said that it needs to be tuned often, but i havent run into any problems with mine. I cant really say how good it holds up during a gig, but i play it pretty heavy practicing with my band and just playin by myself, and its great.

  Overall

A great piece. Id recommend it to anyone lookin into buying a good electric.

2002 NJ Warlock(Trans Red): American Musical Supply $500,
1992 NJ Warlock(Black w/ purple crackle): Ebay $250

  Features

My 2002 warlock, i couldnt ask for much more, the stock pickups are very decent, though i'll soon have 2 emg's in it, im going to put the stock pickups in my 1992 warlock when i get the emg's because they have really good tone....better than they Seymour Duncan and EMG Select thats in my '92 warlock, the 2002 has a bc rich licenced tremolo, its excellent, the '92 has a Gotoh floyd copy also, they are both very well made trems, of course a real Floyd is always better, but you know. my 2002 is made of chesswood, and has 2 volume pots, 1 tone pot, and a 3 way pickup selector, widow headstock, and a beautiful quilted Red finish. the 1992 i believe is made of mahogany because its very heavy, has a volume pot, tone pot, and 3 way pickup selector, coil tap, reversed pointed headstock it is Black with a Purple crackle finish, the reversed headstock and crackle finish make it look amazing, and the coil tap is a Very nice feature...it allows you to split the two humbuckers into single coils.

  Playability

Both Warlocks play amazing, very low action on both, yeah they are imports, not USA rich's but they still are amazing guitars. Necks are thin, but not too thin, easy to get up to the higher frets...i couldnt ask for much more, and for those of you that say you 'cant tune bc rich's down because of the tremolos' your very wrong. I play a half step down, i currently have my 2002 warlock tuned to Eb, and my 1992 warlock to Bb! (like a 7 string a half step down). and it still sounds and plays amazing.

  Quality

Sound quality couldnt be better, even with the crappy seymour duncan in my 1992 warlock, it still sounds good (the duncan for some reason has No clean tone.) my 2002 warlock, the only thing that could make its tone any better is a set of EMG's which, it will soon have.

  Durability

I've had my 2002 warlock for a year now, and its never gave me any problems. The 1992 warlock came with a few problems, but that was the previous owner's fault, not bc rich's...it had been refretted, and whoever did it didnt do a good job...the fretboard's coming off the neck on frets 1-3.

  Overall

Over all, BC Rich is my favorite guitar company, they make the most amazing sounding And looking guitars, from their USA Customs all the way down to their entry level bronze guitars, they are all high quality instruments with some pretty sweet features. I currently own 3 BC Rich's, and i would never sell any of them for anything, and i Will own many, many more Richs....They arent a company like Ibanez who doesnt have handmade guitars OR a custom shop, and make their high..no Over priced guitars out of the same wood they make their entry level guitars.(basswood...for a small lesson on basswood, Paint kills a lot of basswood's tone.) They have reasonable prices, and guitars that will make you drool because of the Looks, and then when you plug it in because after you hear the tone and feel the playability, you wont be able to put it down.

I have a B.C. Rich Doc Murdok Warlock and it has everything i expected and then someI put two humbuckers in and now it picks up like crazy. Its true that when you pick it up you dont want to put it down or play easy on it at all...i have another for the other rock scence. I use a double stack marshall set and a RP100 Digi-tech and it gives major benifits. you can play easy easy harmonics, touch harmonic and pinch harmonics on it. I love the head and the chaotic body shape as well as the shape of the head. I have it in a body art collection series and the body art is awesome. I dont have one complaint about B.C. Rich at all. i have been playing for almost 6 years this christmas and i have played many different types and this one just radiats me. B.C.....keep up the good work! For those maggots out there.....if you 555....then im 666!

  Playability

I can maintain a perfect sound with the guitar that i like and almost stick with 24/7.

  Quality

The sound and everything is awsome and the pick-ups i had in it were B.C.'s and there was nothing wrong with them, just decided to change. This guitar can top alot of guitars out there that others think are "the best" but everyone has there own opinion.

  Durability

This item is really reliable, it once in a while gets out of tune but im not sure if thats because i tune by ear alot and play drop C & D and everything or just playing it hard and letting it sit over night....curiouse? This "machine" is definatly reliable for live gigs, i am in a band called NUMB and its awsome, we priviously have #1 local band in Tucson....we tribute to slipknot once in a great while....try it prove it to yourself!

  Overall

Overall this is an excellent guitar for people that know what they are doing. This is probably the kind of guitar im gonna stick with for a long while. Thanks B.C.

I bought Warlock from a guitar center in ut, it was the exclusive series for guitar center so it has a relly awsome paint job on it. And of corse being in ut im shunned away for having a guitar made of pure evil.

  Features

its pretty good in the features department lets face it the looks are awesome and the chrome hardware sets off the gloss black head really well, it is a very loud guitar so playing metal comes natural the only thing I don't like about it is that mine (the bronze series) doesn't have a seprate volume for each pickup so doing Randy Roades style selector flicking doesn't work.

  Playability

The thin neck makes it easy to hit frets spaced farther apart so its easy to bust a huge solo on it, if thats your style. It's natural loudness gives pretty bad feedback but its shape allows for easy access to every fret including the 24th on the low-E string. Also despite its "shredar" shape it won't stab you playing it sitting down. It is also very heavy so playing for a long time standing up can make your muscles tired but it makes for a good work out lol.
I've played an Aria, Fender, Jackson, Silvertone, Shecter, Epiphone, Ibanez and a Gibson SG, but by far the B.C. Rich has been the easiest to play, and the most fun.

  Quality

Like i mentioned before its loud and creates feedback, so metal and hard rock are the natural music choices for this guitar. However light rock, jazz, or blues styles are almost a definate not on this guitar. Since I bought it I put on set of Ernie Ball strings (heavy bottom skinny top) and combine with my Boss DS-1 distortion pedal it makes a very thick distorion sound that is perfect for heavy metal styles. But if jazz or blues is your style DO NOT buy this guitar it going to make your life miserable, it has actually found a way to add minor distortion to the clean tones of my amp so it is almost imposible to play clean jazz blues with it. But if you are looking at this guitar to buy you probably don't play much of that anyway.

  Durability

This guitar is built better than a tank. I have accidentaly stuck it in a ceiling fan and it barely chipped the tip of the widow headstock. It begs to be played really hard and most people will tell you it needs to be tuned often but I haven't had any trouble.

  Overall

In my opinion this is on of the greatest guitars of all time, combining great playability with wicked looks. No matter where you play it, it is bound to receive alot of attention, and the great presence of the looks make it perfect for playing on stage. (Unless you're playing at a church)

I bought my Bc Rich Warlock off the internet from an online music store. I ddnt know what to expect, and which in the series to buy, but after looking through many of the online reviews, it seemed that the Bronze model (the cheapst) was not that far off from the quality of the higher priced models. So, i got the Bronze. Unfortunalty for me, because i live in England, there was a huuuuge amount of shippin, tax etc.

  Features

The features are ok. A 3 way pickup switch, volume and time controls, basically what you would expect.
The shape is great, it looks so evil!

  Playability

It is very heavy! Which can sometimes be a problem, as your shoulder feels numb after a performance. I wouldn't recommed it to anyone under 100lbs :D

  Quality

The BDSM pickups are nothing great, so I decided to get some EMG-81's which has given it a MUCH better sound. Plus a lot less noise.

  Durability

The tuning does go out a lot, whihc can get quite annoying.
It has an outragous shape, and as a result, it has taken a bit of a beating. I knocked the guitar on the wall, which has left me with no coating on the corner :( A black guitar with a wooden corner....nice! :D

  Overall

Overall, it is a pretty average guitar, unless you are willing to fork out some extra dosh for some new pickups and maybe even an effects pedal. It is pretty cheap though, (as long as you live in the states!) so if you have a tight budget, i would recommend it. I have played it basically everyday since i got it, so there must be something good about it!

I was looking at the wall of guitars at the local guitar store when this long curly haired dude that jammin' on a "red" BC Ritch Warlock SAid he had a "black" one just like it out in the car and would sell it to me for $75-100. Well naturally after O.Kaying it with the boss (wife), I gave him $75. I think it pissed off the guy working there but I didn't care cause he would only offer me $40 for my Yamaha. Prick.

  Features

Since it's the Bronze series I didn,t expect much but for the price i paid, it's an awsome gitfiddle. Stays in tune for the most part but the tuning pegs are hard to turn. Doesn't get as much crunch as my Yahama (which has less pick-up) but with a multi-Fx pedal it does just fine. Has nice action and the cut away body makes it a sinch to get to those hard to reach places.

  Playability

Pick-ups are kinda' weak but hell, it looks soooo nice. Get a pedal.....or two.

  Quality

Sounds great, even through my chitty amp.

  Durability

You can beat the holy crap out of it and it will stay in tune (mostly). Pretty heavy but i've been meaning to workout anyways.

  Overall

i think the bronze series is a good one if you dont pay more than $150.

I bought my Warlock @ a local music store in WV. second hand (used). The clerk at the time of sale (My salesman.) couldn't have been more than 19 or 20 and looked as though he had either just pulled an "all-nighter" or was "F.U.B.A.R.-Stoned". When I asked to see it he replied "Killer, the old guy wants to feel the wicked peice" afterwhich he removed it from the wall and stood looking at it for what seemed an eternity before handing it to me. He further insulted me by asking if I was sure that I wouldn't "hurt" myself with it; "It's a shred machine thats all". I began with Van Halen and ended with some WASP played thru an AX2 demo amp (They go together so well!) then asked if the 500.00 price tag was firm or perhaps negotiable. I bought it for 275.00 2 hours later after ok'ing it with my wife and borrowing from her the extra 75.00 I hadn't had at the time. When I returned it was to more of the jolly "old guy" aggrivation initially experienced. It payed off in the end though,...he threw in a hard shell custom case, 2 packs of Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings and a hand full of picks. I later was told by a friend that the guitar, like the case was of custom manufacture. The three DBL. hummbucker - four dial- with lowpro Floyd Rose, kind. I had owned the guitar a little more than a month when another friend of mine tried to tell me what I had. I didn't believe him. We got on the internet and couldn't find anything like it. My friend also owned a Warlock. His was a NJ series and except for all the extras looked identical to mine. My personal opinion is that someone really suped this thing up. I don't think its a custom for one reason:It's a bolt on, not a neck-thru.

  Features

Hard to access the upper reaches of the fretboard (For me) because of the body style. Tonal quality is superior to most of the other guitars I've owned in the past, though I'm not sure of what exact type of wood is used in the Warlocks . To me it carrys tone like a Basswood body. The weight is another factor that points in the Basswood direction, because it's exceptionally light unlike Poplar body guitars etc. I know next to nothing when it comes to guitar size scale such as 5/32 or whatever but the odd thing about mine is that while I don't think it has a "Jumbo Fretboard" the neck does seem slightly larger than any other like mdl.'s I've compared it to.

  Playability

Currently I play a Jackson Kelly series and I gotta tell ya I'm love'n every second of it! I find the Kelly's body style to be far more "Fretboard Accessable" than the BC Rich Warlock and a little more comfortable when strapped to the front of the body. The Kelly like all the other guitars I've owned does seem heavier than the Warlock. On a scale of 1-10 with a Parker Fly series rating a solid 10 and a Gibson Les Paul studio being somewhere (way) above that; I'd give the Warlock a strong 8 score. I feel very guilty over this so maybe even a ,...well...8.5!

  Quality

HOT!,....on fire...burning up....searing....blistering.....whew!

  Durability

I've hammered away at this thing for over 3 or 4 years now and only gave it to my oldest son (18- yeah, go figure...from the old guy!) a month or two ago. He was so moved he gave his Carvin to his little bro. my second oldest who also was stoked over recieving a way cool guitar. The only problem I ever had with the Warlock was with one of the string saddle things inside the trem that had to be replaced, and I guess that we can either blame one of two people for that...myself, or Floyd Rose. I'd take one on stage anytime and never give it a 2nd thought. Simply put; Warlock's Rock!

  Overall

I first saw a Warlock being held by Blackie Lawless of W.A.S.P. in a picture in a magazine (Don't remember which one.) and thought it would be way cool to own one. Later on I found out that Coal Chamber's lead guitarist played an acrylic version of the Warlock. I very much like the music of both these bands so....
